I always finished my drinking paralytic
I even don't remember how much I was drinking - just all that was at home
and then go to night-shop or petrol station...

now - on my second day with naltrexone
yesterday 5 beers - but till five hours!

today - 4 beers
and feeling of calm and peace :-)
absolutely no craving for more

just going to sleep
and wish you good day/night :-)

thanks a lot for warm greeting :-)
I really appreciate it - have someone to tell honestly about my struggles
especially when you must try to show that everything is ok...

Hi from me too, xerb and welcome - please keep in touch as we all know how you feel. And especially when others can't see what your problem is. When I finally broke down and told my doctor I was an alcoholic he looked at me as if I was crazy, or at least exagerating! I felt horrible enough having to crawl in there and tell him - then I had to CONVINCE him!!!! And then he gave me 30 measley Nals and said, "after that you'll have to use will power." Needless to say I never went back.

So hang in there, post as often as you'd like, and read lots of stuff here - it's all good!!

hello :-)
I know what you mean
I think it is partly our guilt (or just the evidence of alcoholism)
when you are an alcoholic - you want to "protect" your drinking
if you admit that you drink too much - you'll loose it
and it is really the last thing you want!
so you have a demon inside
so much suffer and hopelessness
and nobody knows about it...
I think my wife would be shocked reading this :-)

3rd day on nal - 3,5 beers
hardly no craving
just a habit
sometimes I catch myself on thinking that I "should" drink more and faster :-)

during a day sometimes I feel a little lack of coordination (I hope it'll drop away)
mood - flat but stable - no emotional exhaustion (like it always used to be)

second week on nal
the panic has come...
when friday came - my usual heavy drinking day - I felt terrible
I had some handshakes and obsessive thougts about alcohol
and terrific thoughts - no to take the pill
why should I take it? if I take it I couldn't get drunk!
hopefully I followed the rule - first nal - then drink
and then - a miracle - no obsessive thougts, no heavy drinking :-)
just few drinks - despite I was on a party
