Bad night again last night. I think it was probably the worst since I started TSM. Whisky caused the problems again. For some reason, I can drink it like you would drink water. So much so that I can't even drink beer because it doesn't taste nice. Maybe (hopefully) beer drinking has been extinguished and it is only whisky left. Doenst feel like that but I suppose it never would.

Anyway, last night was the first time I got sick since I started. I puked up that green stuff. Also, whisky defo makes me aggressive. I waas chattin to my ex-gf and her friend kept butting in and I called every name under the sun, Not cool at all.

Anyway, enough whining from me, onwards and upwards! :D

Z9,

I think you're right when I'm dealing with my bad days it doesn't feet like it working but those are exactly the moments when I'm extinguishing my alcoholic behaviours. Whiskey (and any hard liquor) makes it easy to go too far too fast. I hope this past week pays off for you soon!!! It sounds pretty miserable!!! HUGS!!! Feel better. BTDT

How well I can relate! The last time I was 'sick' was just on three glasses of wine (yeah, thanks Naltrexone!) But one time before Nal it took a whole lot of Scotch - sick doesn't even begin to describe it!

Keep on with the extinguishing! Control/Cure is not far off.

You have extinguished the beer huh? Seems the opposite for me, I've extinguished brown liquor. but my favorites, beer and red wine remain. Maybe the most ingrained habits die hardest.

saying things I shouldn't say was perhaps the worst part of my drinking problem. you make me realize I haven't done that ages. I did it mildly one night a couple of months ago, but aside from that, nothing. so keep going. hopefully you'll find more control of what you drink, and what comes out of your mouth too. 8-) Thansk for reminding me that

Hang in the Z9. If you want to read something to cheer you up go back and read Crown86's posts. Talk about overcoming an addiction to the brown liquor, his story is the one to read. You'll get there just be safe and try to not put yourself in harm's way.

I haven't tried anything but wine since starting TSM but I'm curious what other drinks will taste like. Also, the weekend before last I was also horribly hung over and puking up the green stuff, which even with my EXCESSIVE daily consumption pre-TSM I only did a couple of times. It scared me because I'd drank 3 bottles of wine spaced out over several (8+) hours, which for me used to be like a training run in the park. Not sure if liver's getting tuckered out or just a different physical reaction with NAL. Hang in there 0-9, I have a little picture of a roller coaster on my iPhone I look at to remind me of what this process is like.

beentheredonethat, BGH, joe12pack, Saint Vincent, StJude, Thanks so much for the support. Its all very good of yous. I'm keeping the chin up, there are certain things that are makng me optimistic. For one thing, my drinking absolutely does not resemble what it was at the start. I'm not saying its necessarily better, but it is different and that gives me hope!

Talk soon :D

I continue to drink very fine malt whiskeys to bad levels. I have made progress on the whiskey front. Before I could drink the cheap nasty stuff but I can only drink the very smooth stuff. Problem is is that I can drink it very easily.

Beer? Can barely touch the stuff anymore. Cider is going that way too, but is clinging on just about.

Whiskey....go away. ITs funny how much TSM is like a phobia- you have to face your fear or else you will never get better. I'm also going to up my dose to 100mg- I seen some benefit in doing that at the weekend.

Hey Z9, Thanks for the post. As a matter of fact, I just upped myself to 100 starting tonight. Will be going out later. I'll let you know how it works out. Keep us informed. Curious minds want to know. :)

I don't enjoy beer the way I used to either. The first sip doesn't taste good at all, but I usually persevere and get past it. ;)

Drinking Appleton Estate Rum tonight, my favorite liquor. Hadn't had any in a while, and worked so hard in the yard today I figured it was my reward. Perhaps it's stinkin' thinkin', as AA folks are wont to say, but at least I'm relaxed. My ancient muscles don't recover as quickly as they used to.
