Hehe, off topic but funny. I have to admit, I love "raw" hot dogs too. But yes as Char says, they come already cooked, so it's really just eating them cold. And I only do it with Oscar Meyer weiners.

Hope your week goes okay Jane! Sounds like a good start.

Maybe I'll start a New Topic for Raw Hot Dogs? Anybody? Just joking. I had a bit more Chard last night than I'd planned. Probably equivalent to about 10 glasses. Nothing like before tho. I get drunk quicker & the AM hangovers are a bitch now. Worse than pre TSM! Feel kind of crappy right now. Hopefully today will be an easier day. Okay off topic but quickly. I dicovered a tick on my back the other day. Estimate it had been buried in my skin so deep it had been there a least a wk before I noticed it. Dr removed it. Still alive! Not feeling well & hope it's just AL related & not Lyme.
Have a good one all
JANE

hey jane,
sorry to hear you don't feel well. a friend of mine was recently diagnosed with lyme disease. she caught it early and was treated so she is now fine. the way they knew it was lyme was that there was a classic bulls-eye ring at the bite site. keep your eye on it, but it's my understanding that if there is no ring there is no lyme. :)
feel better!

Hi Jane,

I am in Boulder, Colorado which is extremely health and fitness oriented. So I don't think many people raw (or cold) hot dogs here. LOL  Although, I grew up in Nebraska and I do remember eating lots of raw hot dogs as a kid. So maybe I have been brainwashed by the health food hippies here in Colorado! I've never heard of Linguica or Churicio, but I am guessing I don't want to. I get really queasy about unusual meat ingredients. My neighbor always tries to get me to eat whatever wild game he shoots (elk, etc.) and I politely decline. That sounds so gross to me! Ridiculous, I know ... but true.

I also had way more to drink last night than I planned. I went to a birthday dinner and a party afterwards with free-flowing hard liquor and big partiers. I lost track (not measuring), so I am guessing it was around 10 drinks. I feel terrible today, these Nal hangovers are even worse than the pre-Nal hangovers. Ugh! Why do I do this to myself?!?

Oh well, now I just have to suffer through the day and wait for tomorrow. Sounds like you are in the same boat. At least I know for sure I won't drink tonight, it sounds disgusting to me right now!

And sorry to hear about the tick, wow ... and alive! Please do keep an eye on that, let us know it is NOT lyme!

Have a great day! YG

p.s. Know any good hangover remedies? :|

Thanks eveyone. I am seeing Dr. for follow-up check. Am on a 21day powerful anti-bioti. I'll be watching it for sure. We are in a rather woodsy area where in winter I've seen them out my window at nite. So close. They are so beautiful & majestic.
So, here's my count. Friday nite was bad. Nightmare. Fun while it lasted, but I cannot for sure drink anywhere near what I used to without dire consequences. Kenny had 2 bottles of cabernet' don't know how he does it. Used to be strickly a beer drinker til he had a minor heart problem. Asked the Dr. if he could still drink if he changed to red wine. Dr. said of course, that's good for you. I'm sure Dr. didn't mean drink gallons! Few yrs back, a nephew got married. Free booze. When evening ended, I counted Ken's empty wine glasses to the fine ol' tune if 15! Not counting pre-reception. I don't feel too bad now.
Last night when to local for dinner. I stiopped myself at 3 glasses of chard. Been able to do that more often now, However, I still feel like **** this AM. Has to be the Nal. Just that it always brings on those dreaded fears of guilt & self-loathing.
Today I will take my Nal a little earlier as there's a new wine bistro at local Mall. Been wanting to check it out. I'm hoping for a controlled day. With no hangovers from Hell. Will keep in touch.
YG. Actually linguica is quite good when cooked on grill, & it smell is addicting. We use it in clam boils & boiled dinners for that added kick.
Thanks for caring I'll write ya'll later this evening or early tomorrow
ALWAYS JANE

Another Gemini here!! And yeah, we sure can talk! But here that's a good thing.

Husbands!!! Can't live without them...etc. Mine drinks every day at dinner time because he says it's good for his heart - and he usually only has two or three - but he'd walk over broken glass to get more if he was out...would never see this as a 'problem.' It has bugged me for years that he's not willing to clear booze out of the house to help me- I have been very resentful over this - not good for any marriage.

But now that I'm cured, and getting better and better as weeks go by, I can relax and not get uptight with him. If he feels the need to unwind with a few every night, well who am I to say he can't. He's a wonderful husband and loves me very much. If he has this little problem so what. He never gets drunk and seems proud of me that I've got Naltrexone on my team, and that I'm not getting nasty drunk anymore. Maybe I'm just jealous???

Anyway you gals who's husbands are doing shift work, or who cause you to feel lonely at times by not giving you the attention you crave - well sometimes we expect our mates to fulfill our lifes, when in fact they are not ever able to do that. Be your own best friend, get a strong life for yourself. Maybe your husbands will respond to a new you?

Sorry if this is cliche stuff but it's true!! Being sober because Naltrexone has cured me of the craving and out of control drinking has made me a stronger, more energized, more interested in outside stuff, kinda person. Therefore I'm not so dependant on my hubby for everything in life. And as a Gemini I could go on!!! But won't

Welcome another Gemini.! And we CAN talk talk talk it's incredible. But we Are good conversationalists & funny too. You are right we do need to trust in ourselves cause it's us we need to answer to in the end. I really do believe that. Glad you are cured too.
Update, I spose this is more of a journal for me than a drink by drink count. However, try to make a long story short. And BTW I did notice some were a little disturbed that this gets off topic. But for me, it's theraputic to get some of this stuff out when I think of it. Anyway, the Cabernet' drinker is back for the evening. He brought with him 2 small bottles & 1 large one that he has just opened & poured it into 1 of my biggest glasses. (not wine glass). When I got up this AM, I had plans to spend some quiet time with Rick. Shift work is really getting to him. He has a form of cerebral palsy that does affect him to a point. So, I put on a pretty dress & make-up, thinking we'd try the new bistro. WRONG! Brother Ken informed us he was coming at 4:30 to watch BIG football. No offence, but I HATE football! So Rick & I stopped for a couple before coming home. That was 2 beers for him & 2 rum & diets for me. It's almost time to go to the local "2. I call it that because it's rather "seedy" but close by & everyone knows everyone.
If I'm still coherent, I'll post later. If not you'll know why. Good thing he only comes 1ce a yr!!
ALWAYS JANE

Sorry Char,
I guess you figured it out that I meant the deer. We see them more inwinter as they are hungry of course, but they eat all my pacasandras, & the surrounding shrubs. Rich gets upset but I love to see them. How could they kill them. BUT THAT"S ANOTHER TOPIC!!
Being a Gemini I am naturally nosey. Is Char short for Charlotte? Only cause that's my Mom's name. Spose I should write SOMETHING about AL. Oh ya, I went to visit Ma & Pa Kettle yesterday. Pa, at 90yrs. old was still popping down a few "brewski's". Wonder where Brother & I got it from? Okay, I'll shut-up now.
