Never was a heavy drinker. I drink Instant (I know, I know, but I like it really HOT). My DH drinks the pot kind and he usually finishes it over the day.

My one very strong Large cup in the morning is to help get rid of headaches that I wake up with (unknown cause). So even tho I would like to give it up - I try to look at it as therapy (or maybe it's the coconut milk I use with it that is the therapy?)

My coffee consumption has stayed the same. I drink one very large, very strong mug of coffee in the morning (probably the equivalent of two cups) with lots of cream and sugar, and that's it. I have not noticed a difference in the taste or anything.

I never drink coffee during the day or evening, because it makes me way too jittery and causes sleep problems. I remember once, years ago, one of my clients had a coffee machine that would make one cup at a time. I would drink one cup after another, all day long. One day, during a conference call, a coworker noticed my hands shaking and asked me if I was nervous about something. I said no, but maybe it was because I had about 10 cups of coffee that morning!

So that was a wakeup call ... I changed my habit to only one cup a day ... albeit a big one! :)

i'd say my coffee consumption is down a bit. i have noticed a few times that i forget to get my first cup immediately. unheard of before.

bgh, just a thought, a classic symptom of caffeine withdrawal is a headache. could it be that your system clears caffeine in less that 24 hours, so you are experiencing withdrawal by morning?

Path, thanks for the hint about caffeine withdrawal. But I sometimes don't get a headache and still have had the coffee the day before - in my case I think it's like a hangover (even tho I'm not drinking) - something in the brain causes the blood vessels to swell in the night - probably screwed up seratonin - I wake up sometimes out of a nightmare and instantly the headache comes - and the caffeine works immediately after drinking it, to shrink them again.

I'm eating very low-carbs, heavy on the meat/fat and no diary. Don't want to mess with my coffee too! But maybe in the spring I will try to withdraw as an experiment. Who knows eh?

Glad to see the coffee thread still exists. My coffee is still 2-3 max when it was 6-8.

Been very busy with theater production and a record I'm working on so AL has only reared its ugly head late at night which has been for the past few months actually.

I will be more active towards mid November but in the meantime will say quick hellos and read posts. nice to see all the new faces/...good luck everyone. Best Jim

(#'s are down consistent 6-8)

I did a search of the forum, wondering if anyone else has noticed a decrease in coffee consumption. I have been a daily 3-4 cups a day coffee drinker for 20 years and today I realized I havent been finishing my first cup! Maybe that's why I have felt so tired the past week or sO :| I'm not complaining and it seems as though others have experienced the same. I'm wondering if his was a lasting effect for any of you or just a phase of TSM?
