Had some cravings yesterday afternoon, but I didn't drink because I had to go to my drinking drivers class (7 week class everyone who gets a DWI must take if they want to get their license back). They don't routinely breathalyze us there but if they smell alcohol on someone they will, plus I haven't driven after drinking since starting TSM (a lifelong promise I made to myself that plan to keep & now feel like I have the ability/control to do so). By the time I got home from the class at 10 pm the cravings had subsided. Today may also be another AF day since I have a 7 hour drive to western Michigan and won't get in until late. I know where the liquor store is across by my hotel, but I had similar trip last weekend and by the time I got to the hotel I just wanted to go to bed. Really enjoying week 2 of my NAL honeymoon, although the sex could be better ;)

Enjoy those AF days, and especially the day after the AF days! Sounds like you are doing great, StJude!

Is this the same St. Jude that was on MWO forum? Just curious.

It's me! Haven't been back since since starting here but I'm very grateful to the mywayout site for leading me to TSM. SMART recovery is another good site with excellent resources & activities (cognitive behavioral therapy approach) :)

Interesting that you mention sex. Do you mean that you used to enjoy sex while drunk or that your sex drive isn't what it used to be?

In my first week I have noticed that I have virtually no sex drive. :?

Both--I've always loved all sorts of sex while drunk or sober (better sober), my chief problem is that I don't enjoy it as much because I'm so self-consciously fat from excessive alcohol consumption over the past 5 yrs (it doesn't help that my wonderful partner's body makes Michaelangelo's David statue look like a fat lazy slouch) . I still have had same high octane sex drive while on NAL (hope that isn't TMI) , but I really can't pass judgment on its medical effects on sex drive because I may be an anomaly.

Oh, ok. Maybe it's just me then. It's convenient in a way, because I am single at the moment.

I have had a slight decrease in sex drive, which for me, may be a good thing. It is only a slight decrease though,

Feeling sort of meh--I sort of had it in my head that yesterday could be an AF day. I had a long drive to a work training and knew I'd be getting to my hotel late. Last week when this happened I just went right to bed. But this time I had some cravings on the drive so I stopped along the way to get a couple of bottles of wine before the stored closed. Got to my hotel room around 1 am, drank 1 1/2 bottles and stayed up until 5 am. Woke up at 9:30 feeling like crap--major hangover, nauseous, exhausted of course. Now I'm back in my hotel room and sipping on the leftover wine, it's actually settling my stomach to some extent. I do have a couple of bottles of white chilling in the freezer and I need to make sure I don't overdue it because I have to lead a 9 hour training tomorrow and then 6 hr drive home. I've had nothing but warm fuzzie since starting TSM so I guess this is my first cold prickly.
It's so helpful to read all of your postings, today is a day I need reminding that every time I drink it's leading to extinction so I shouldn't beat myself up over it  , and I'm very very early in the process

Hey Jude. I'm having a similar day myself. I'm one beer away from consuming 20 (UK) units of beer, which is the most I've had since I started TSM. I suppose it's because the initial side effects go away, and you start to feel kind of normal again. I'm not sure whether I should try limiting my drinking to after 5pm, or if I should just wait for the desire to go away eventually.
