I'm well into week two now. Week one I'll count as an anomoly, with three AF days. I'm actually having trouble getting my numbers up this week, so as to have a relatively high unit week against which to measure future progress. I'm almost forcing myself to consume more than two or three, even at a less rapid pace than normal. I have no interest in the high-power rotgut that I used to drink for a quick surreptitious buzz, and am actually finding myself drinking light beer, something that almost never happend in my pre-nal days. No hangovers, worries about getting caught driving while intoxicated, regrets about having overdone it the day before, etc.

Great to feel good in the morning, isn't it?

I am at a similar stage to you. I am on the last day of my first week, and have seen some big reductions in the number of units I am consuming. Hopefully it continues for both of us!

I think we started the same day--Sunday, October 3rd?. I agree with you, being hangover free is heavenly. Even on the nights I'm consuming 2 bottles of wine (which would be a lot for most, but it is one bottle less than usual for me), I wake up in the morning feeling pretty damn good. I was even singing in the shower this morning

That's right, Jude, we started at the same time. Several days this week, I've chilled up to 8 beers, and after six, can't get down but a few swallows of the next. I think the main difference is that I'm actually feeling the biochemical changes, which are not so wonderful, minus the buzz, which always drowned out all of the bodily "noise" that tells most people to cut themselves off. Like I say, I'm trying to max my units this week, just so I can show progress more easily on subsequent weeks.
