YG: I am glad I found TSM before they got old enough to notice.

Kiwi: thank god we found TSM before they are too old to realize mummy has a problem.
Boy, that one. My kids are almost 10 and 7. I started seriously trying to get a handle on this 2 years ago after some really bad incidents - two of which my kids witnessed and were told mommy was really sick. one of them I was incapacitated in a bathroom at a wedding. Nice right? So my kids were a big motivator to try to stop this. Back then I actually went to a 3 day detox and an 8 week program (3 nights a week). I could never get into the AA thing of course and sobriety lasted about 2 months. I was sober for Christmas and back on drinking by New Years.
Anyway, glad I found TSM and started me on my new journey. I can say I haven't done anything like that in front of my kids again since starting on the NAL and only had the one regrettable time at my reunion this summer. So I hope this works. Besides not wanting them to think mom is a drunk, I was having this deep fear that one day my kids were going to say something to a teacher or other parent about my drinking. It's looking more optimistic like that won't ever happen.
Take care,
