YG,

That is wonderful. I love DQ but it is wonderful that you were able to share that with the kiddos without having a craving. I look forward to this. TSM definitely seems to be working for you. I look forward to hearing about your updates. Keep posting!!! BTDT

Hello all!

Just wanted to check in and report some continued interesting and encouraging developments.

My family is here this weekend, and that is normally a huge trigger for me (they are the ones who taught me to drink, after all!) I have plenty of wine in the house, but I am not blowing through it all like I used to. Yesterday around 5pm, a neighbor brought me a new drink she called "Liquid Marijuana" which was tasty (rum, coconut, pineapple, a bunch of sugary neon liquoers, whats not to love?) I finished that, then drank water (!?!) for the next few hours. Then when my mom got to my house around 9pm, I had three glasses of wine over a few hours. After three, I could not force myself to have another ... I was ready for bed and literally could not stomach having more wine.

Tonight, I poured a glass of wine a few hours ago, and another an hour ago. Again, I am not gulping, and I am not really interested in drinking much more. In fact I don't think I could. I keep leaving my glass in other rooms and forgetting about it. That is AMAZING to me.

I keep vascillating between reporting this progress and not. In a way, it makes me feel guilty, almost like I am bragging which is so not my style. :? I don't want anyone who isn't experiencing this to feel discouraged. On the other hand I really do want to share this progress, to show what is possible in a few short weeks or months, if you stick with it. I am so looking forward to reading these experiences from all of you, as soon as possible!

For me it was a sudden change, as if a switch had been flipped. It was around 4.5 months and coincided with titrating up to 100mg. I am not sure if the time or dose or both was the key ... but regardless, I hope this sticks!!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and please keep posting!

Hugs, YG :D

Yoga Girl,

Oh, you totally have to post the good! We need to hear the good, the bad and the ugly. I find your success to be so encouraging and real!! Please don't hold back. It isn't bragging - it give those of us in earlier weeks hope.

My family has also been such a strong trigger. When I was a teenager, I used to sneak drinks from my mom's wine every night after she went to bed. I am now 42 and she (and my sisters) still push my buttons :? How lame is that? I've had to share a lot of time with them over the past year. My oldest sister died unexpectedly and this put me in close proximity to my family for more time than I would normally spend with them leading to relapses that left me searching for solutions outside of AA. My youngest sister is getting married next year. I'm hoping that TSM will be working for me as well as it is working for you :) I have hope that it will.

I would gladly consider a 100 mg dose (like you and hopefully Joe have benefitted from) but I figure it can't hurt to cut my teeth on the lower dose for the first couple of months. I get that I am in this for the long haul and I was planning to save the heavy ammunition for later weeks

Please keep posting your successes (and otherwise). The folks on this board are looking for reality + and - and it would be a shame to exaggerate or "dumb down" your experience. We are a clever bunch and appreciate your sincerity. With gratitude, BTDT

Hey Yoga,

You are hvg such amazing results. It's great to post the details for others... And no-one sees it as bragging. It's inspiring for the rest of us.
I was where u are now a couple of weeks ago... But dammit I've just found another trigger I need to extinguish. Hope to be back to where u are soon.

Have another brilliant week. Can't wait to read your next update.

Kiwi. :)

Agree with previous posts YG-not bragging at all! It is interesting and inspiring to read about each person's unique experience with TSM. We are all so happy for you! :P

Thanks, everyone! I am sure I will have some ups and downs as I continue on this TSM journey. The last few weeks have been so much better than where I started. I hope to continue this downward trend!

This week I had my lowest numbers ever, which was particularly incredible to me because my family was visiting AND I celebrated by 43rd birthday yesterday (on 10-10-10, cool, huh?) Still not "healthy" levels, but getting closer every week. :D :D :D
