Hey there Kiwi!

Yes, I do have kids as well, and it IS wonderful to actually be sober with them at night. I have a 4 year-old daughter and a 7 year-old son, and they are so sweet. But, like all kids this age, they are also wild! My habit was to drown out the chaos with wine. Not really mom of the year behavior. I am glad I found TSM before they got old enough to notice. ;)

I am glad to hear you are doing so well! I think I am right behind you ... more effortless AF days, no more alcohol obsession. This feels like a miracle!!

Hugs, YG :)

Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone.

I have bigger numbers this week....but I am still pretty happy with everything.

21.5 units and 4 AF. My week went like this....Mon AF, Tues AF, Weds 4.5u, Thurs 2 units (Why bother  ) FRIDAY was a big blowout at 15 units. Sat AF and Sun planning AF.

I am fine with the Friday night....I was in control the whole time. It was a business lunch that WENT BIG ! Started at 2:30pm...and got home at 2:30am. 15 units in 12 hours aint too bad. Or am I dillusional? To be honest, I want to be able to still have the ODD big night with friends. It was fun. Dancing, meeting new people.....all the usual. (without any inappropriate behaviour 8-) )

Only bummer about the week - Went to beach for weekend.....and have just come home to find our house has been broken into. GRRRR. Kids and Hubby still at the beach; don't really want to stay here on my own. Hopefully that's not a recipe for wine intake?

Police Forensics just arrived....they'll probably wipe white dust over everything. Gotta go.

15 units in 12 hours without any inappropriate behavior! That's awesome. Had I been in that long of a social setting while drinking before NAL I've have been incapacitated, embarrassed, total blackout hell. sounds like you're doing okay to me.

Serious bummer about the house though! Good luck with that.

Found another trigger. DAMMIT !!!

After a few weeks that looked like the "Cure" was just round the corner, I am almost back to square one.

I am sitting here on Sat night. I have had NO AF's this week....and one of the nights i downed a whole bottle. :? Daylight savings (Do you guys have that in US? UK? ) We put clocks forward so it's lighter in the afternoons....and this time of the year is ALL about long lazy afternoons soaking up the late afternoon rays....and in my case....ALWAYS with a wine.

I have not fought the trigger....but have decided to DRINK THROUGH IT ! This week the kids have been at grandparents for school holidays too....so Hubby and I have enjoyed many dinners out. Ah well - At least I have NOT had any drinking sessions WITHOUT my NAL.

On a positive note - I have only had one night at my pre TSM levels. The other nights I have had 2 glasses of wine and stopped. (Equiv to roughly 3.5 UK units) So....That's a big change to pre TSM.

I will update my final numbers tomorrow night. :|

I have not popped in much this week.....so I am not up to speed with everyones progress - Hope everyone is having a great week. :P

Hugs
Kiwi

This is a good thing kiwi! You MUST extinguish these triggers and it's better that they come along now. I had to deal with american football as a huge trigger when fall came around. after a few weeks, I don't have to get tossed when there's a game on, or when I'm at a game. and yes, we have daylight savings in the states. It seems like in spring and summer, when days were longer, I drank more. While in fall and winter, when days were shorter and it was colder, I........well......I drank more.

right around the change in seasons it's always fun to drink.

Kiwi,

Seriously, if ALL my drinking nights were one bottle (or less) I'd be happy  The fact that you were mostly two glasses and done - that sounds great from where I am sitting. Not square one - just one square back from where you were last week - maybe.

We do have daylight savings but the kid-free nights would be MY trigger. Can I send my kids to your grandparents? JK Everyone has told me this is a roller coaster so it seems like the ups and downs are normal. Having said that, I'm sure it must be frustrating to feel like you are moving backwards. I'm sure this just means you are extinguishing new triggers and will move on up very soon.

No drinking with the NAL. That is the good stuff. I'm sure the rest will just be a blip in the big scheme of things.

I look forward to the numbers and seeing how this pans out in the next couple of weeks. Hugs back. BTDT

Well here are the final weeks numbers.
27 units 1 AF.
Thanks Joe and BTDT :) I was a bit peeved with myself for the frequency of drinking this week.... But I am sure u are both right... I am extinguishing this new trigger.

Joe u crack me up - an all seasons drinker. Me too... I just didn't realize wS a trigger sunshine is!!! BTDT - you can send yr kids to my parents anytime. Lol. As long as I can send mine to the states to see yours!!! Hmm maybe the kid free week was part of the trigger too? Now they're home... I've had an AF ! Go figure??

I'm usually a sav blanc drinker... But I can't find one that I like anymore. Weird. I've started drinking red, bubbles and rose. The white stuff tastes foul.

Hey Yoga - your kids and mine are roughly the same age. I completely agree about your sentiments - thank god we found TSM before they are too old to realize mummy has a problem. :-)

Hugs to all. Next week will be a goodie for us all. :)

Kiwi.
