Please add me to the cured list soon :( I only seem to post here when I'm down...however from an objective standpoint, I'd say that I ahve definately improved, altho I have stopped counting the units. I'm only on week 7, so no reason to get worried yet. I wish it was over tho!

all I can say is sit back and expect a long bumpy ride my friend. I've been frustrated with my progress lately too. Eskapa says it's a subconscious process, so it's hard to recognize on the conscious level, except for grappling onto what results we already see. but as the reduced numbers show, something is happening.

Thanks for the reply Joe.

Definately noticed a difference last night. Could barely drink the beer- thought it was the beer then swithced to a different brand. Quickly got sick of that so I switched to Whiskey- nearly made me sick so (horrible, cheap whiskey) switched back to beer- managed one more pint then just gave up!

It reminded me of my honeymoon- way more confident now!

Still got a qhicked hangover tho ;)

This keeps getting easier and easier- or harder and harder, depending on what way you look at it. I was out again last night- and its getting harder and harder to drink. I started with Guines, drank two pints, got sick of it (actually left the end of the pint), switched to Magners Cider for a pint- didn't like it so bought a Gin cocktail- absolutely horrible but it was expensive so I managed to choke it down. Switched to pear cider, again not great but managed to drink it. Pretty buzzed at this stage- actaully not buzzed but slightly numb but still willing to socialise. We went to the club where I had another cocktal, again, barely palatable- managed it eventually. Finally had a Corona in the club as a last resort- didn''t like it, drank3/4 of the bottle, put it down and just started dancing. DIdn't drink again for the rest of the night and went home having remembered everything. Barely even hungover today in fact, will be able to do some study so all good :D

So if I count my units it adds to between 10-12 units which is down from around a maximum of 16-20. And this is a probably higher than it would be normally since I really, really had to force myself to drink some of that stuff (bcause its expensive). Again, so although I'm not cured by WHO standards, I no longer have an alcohol problem. Mind you, I'm only 8 weeks, so I'd say that its highly probable that I will be addded to the official "Cured list". My plan for this weeknd was to go out last night and again tonight- but after last night, I don't know if I'd even be bothered!

Hey BTDT,

Yeah I'm to try to be more concientious about posting, I know it is very helpful for those starting. I think I'll start counting my units again too- I stopped after about week 5, got bored of it! It would still be useful to see how far I've come on the graph- it'll be missing a few data points but we'll get a fair idea!

Don't b eat yourself up. It may just be the typical spike. Often these spikes come right before big drops. You can study extra during the drop, when you are clear-headed

Definately noticed a difference there today. Drank four cans of cider earlier on- cider incidentally is oone of the few drinks I can stomach these days. Anyway, threw out the last half glass and done a bit of work. Then went to meet friends, bought another strawberrycider, managed to drink 3/4 of it then gave up--tried then a whiskey and coke, again I gave up and gave it to my friend. Drank a Jager, nearly gagged so decided to give up and switch to water. Back at home now, going to get showered and head back out, maybe hit a club but I doubt I'll drink any more tonight, and if I do it will be very little, and prob a waste of money!

I'm delighted!!!
