Yeah it helps me. I've smoked a bit, but just occasionally. the only time I bought any was when a drummer coming into town wanted me to score some for him for the sessions, and we smoked some. he said he's pay me for it, but never did, so I sent him away with a pinch when he left, and kept a pinch and sold the rest. too expensive anyway. also, off topic, I tried to take a couple hydrocodones when I was hanging one night with a girl who turned out to be a walking pharmacy, and they didn't work at all. so Nal does totally block opiates. cool.

I'd be thrilled for a Glossary. I ordered from River but the shipment takes 21 days - it just cleared customs supposedly. I have 3 pills that were prescribed long ago but with the completely wrong dosage instructions so it's no wonder they were no help. My book just came in this past weekend. It would be great to understand more of the lingo and the units.

Took half on Sunday night. Still had one projectile vomiting but I hope I get past that. I knew to expect it!

so after 3 months are you never ever gonna post here again? not even like once every 3 or 6 or 9 or 12 months to say "Hey, I'm still cured" ? we'll miss you. and I'm definitely not accusing you of being selfish or anything like that. I bet 12 bucks you'll still have to come visit once in a while when the wife isn't looking. There are worse things you could be visiting on the intrawebs ya know :D

Yeah Bob,

We'd miss you. Even though you've been a beacon for a lot of folk and deserve the time away as you've earned your stripes, wouldn't it be nice to encourage the newbies and ahem,...those of us older timers that are still struggling with a hang in there? Just remind the Mrs. the 20 minutes you spend here once a month used to be hours wasted, at bars, causing drama, being a royal pain in the butt (in my case  )? I know,...the gratitude line/...A little too AA for here. But still I'd miss ya ;)

My Best, jim

Here is a nice chart that shows Worldwide Recommendations on Alcohol Consumption and alcohol units from a variety of different countries. Thought it would be a good start for the List of Common Terms.

Claremont, it seems they are not very generous with the ladies.

Nobody has touched this in a while so I thought I would give it a go. Feel free to add to the list then maybe it can be compiled and a sticky added to it.

TSM Terms

TSM Hangover- The hangover experienced following a night of drinking on naltrexone. This hangover can result from much less alcohol intake than what would normally be required to produce similar hangover symptoms without naltrexone.

Honeymoon- The initial reduction in drinking often seen when begining The Sinclair Method. This is not experienced by everyone and is an artifact of extinction. It is thought to be caused by the suppression of the first drink effect by naltrexone.

First Drink Effect- The stimulating effect of the first alcoholic drink that results in increased alertness and energy. Naltrexone seems to block this effect in many people.

Rollercoaster- The wild swings in drink counts that many Sinclair Method users experience during extinction

Extinction burst- The phenomenon of a temporary spike in alcohol consumption as the body attempts to overwhelm the opioid receptor blockade of naltrexone. In classical conditioning an extinction bursts is a short-term increase in the frequency and intensity of a response during the extinction process, due to a lack of reinforcement.

LOL  .... I know, right? Totally not generous to the ladies. Seven per week? Inconceivable! (Princess Bride fans? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?)

Okay, now for some abbreviations (please correct me of I am wrong on these!):

AU - Australian Units
UK - British Units,
US - American Units

TSM - The Sinclair Method
AF - Alcohol Free
Nal - Naltrexone
Al - Alcohol
