Good luck!

You probably shouldn't count on being totally cured by the first of next year, but I think you will see significant progress by then.

Always take the nal an hour before you drink. Try to keep a log of how much you drink each day, and add it up for the week. As you see progress, you'll be encouraged to continue and do better and better.

I'm just finishing up week 8 and am now drinking about 40% less than before I started TSM. I feel great and have started living again. Even if I didn't progress further (although I will), this would still be such a blessing.

I think setting a deadline may be a mistake. However, by the first of the year you will have a better idea how Nal works, and you should be seeing some results by then also.

Good luck!

I agree that jan 1st is early to call it quits with TSM. So many of us are finding it takes 6,9, even 12 months to fully extinguish. Also......if wine is your poison, why not extinguish the wine jones? I drink half the wine that I used to and continue to decline in numbers. The docs say drink through your triggers, drink as you normally would. just some thoughts. I''m not an expert. hope this works for you. good luck and keep us posted

Hi keke,

I basically started the same time as you a year ago and too was hoping to be cured by the top of the year as thats what I told my wife. Unfortunately, many had already experienced and realized that for heavier drinkers, 3-4 months for a cure was a bit bogus. True for some but for many of us, (I've just celebrated my first year ,..not cured though) it will take longer. Don't be discouraged, I am better than I was, just not cured. And if you go by AA standards whereby the disease gets progressively worse, that has NOT happened.

So my advice to you like the previous posters, assess at the top of the year. For the record, I am giving this AT LEAST 6 more months. I think I'd rather have an option than be a slave to my next relapse.

My best to you, Jim

Huh, I wasn't aware that TSM worked better for mixed drinks than wine. Where did you read that? I am a classic alcoholic and my mom doesn't think I'm an alcoholic. People are funny about what they want to believe. The cool thing is that you don't have to label yourself in order for TSM to help you cut back. Good luck and I look forward to hearing your progress!
