I have been using TSM religiously for about 5 months. I used to drink every evening (around 90 units weekly) and in a short time I was down to about 1/4 of that. Before starting TSM, if I drank more heavily than usual for a week-end I would sometimes feel somewhat nauseous for 24 hours after stopping. I never suffered typical hangovers as I understand them but mainly just felt general malaise and really bad nerves and some anxiety. As I said the nausea was fairly rare. For the past couple of months I have noticed that if I take a Nal and have a few drinks more than usual, I will feel really nauseous the next day, to the point where I couldn't have a drink whether I wanted to or not, Nal or not. I realize this is having the desired effect - I'm not drinking - but the reason I'm not has nothing to do with anything I read about in the TSM literature or the book. I'm trying to ascertain if the nausea is just a natural evolution of my drinking "carreer" or a result of the Nal.
Does anybody have any comments?

You caught me amidst a pretty bad case of Nalsea as my friend jerry puts it. Yes, many of us have had this and I was going to put it in the glossary of terms (with credit to Jerry).

Its not going to be hard to be AF today but I'm hungover so I'm nlt counting it. But on my 1 year anniversary I'm going AF regardless and that will be my first 2 AF days since starting TSM. My best, JIm

I think it is probably TSM..I beleive thats what happened to me. It abruptley ended my love affair with straight whiskey HARD. It started to make me sick..extremely sick..like the minute I had a shot I was running for the porcelan throne..sober. The hangovers for me got worse..ie very nauseaous the next day. prior to TSM the hangovers after a binge were bad but no sickness..more shaking anxiety etc. I think it might be the re-wriring peice. TSM sent me right back to the begining of my drinking career, it set the clock back 20 years. In the begining I could never drink straight anything without getting sick, at the end, or right before TSM thats all I would drink. I hated beer or wine or anything that wasn't 80 proof and right out of the bottle with a little ice. As far as the getting ill, I personally welcomed it with open arms because it got me to stop.

Thank you offline. Glad to hear somebody else has experienced the same thing. My problem, I suspect, is that I may not be completely ready to totally quit just yet...but this is forcing me into it and I will go along. The only alternative is to drink without Nal and I'm not going to do that. I can still have a glass of wine or two but if I drink enough for a "buzz" I'm certain to be sick the next day and it just ain't worth it.

Jim Clark - thanks for the reply...Nalsea...I like it (if you know what I mean). I have been AF every work night for probably 4 months without even thinking of drinking but this week-end after drinking Friday evening, and not to excess, I was sick enough Saturday and still Sunday that AF was not a problem. I have a feeling next week-end will be my first AF. Good luck to you.
