I am following your progress with great interest as I am thinking Bac could be my way out if I don't see improvement (which I think I am) by one year in which is September. I think I feel glimmers, I'm only half pint in tonight at 2 .30 AM and feel totally sober although I'm adding pot too (shortly),....

My question,....how are your numbers for booze now that you're in BACville?

Houtx, just wanted to say how happy I am to hear that Topamax is working out for you! you've been such an inspiration for me here and I can't tell you how much it means to me. I know others feel the same way. congratulations on being yourself! you have such a kind heart and you deserve this! Keep us posted 'cause some of us may be there with you soon. I've made progress but still am not cured, and after 6 more months or so, i may start looking elsewhere too. It's so nice of you to keep supporting others even when TSM didn't work for you. Thanks

I'm feeling some success w/ Topamax, yes - baby steps! Only been about a month that I've been on it. It was a really HELLISH summer (June) on BAC. I know I am not alone wishing I were not having to rely on drugs to get off the dependence on AL. Every morning or during the day I am fine! I think "Ok - tonight I will just go home and have Green Tea/Lemonade/BlahBlah" but no! I get home and the urges kick in. I hate it. There were a few days when I was on 100 mgs of Topa and the very thought of wine was like ehhhhhhhhhhhh...

But I wanted something...substituted a couple of martinis instead. That was ok. But a few days later...wine love was back. But I am drinking less and I am taking boatloads of vitamins and TRYING to make it work. So hope this will be successful for me. I just wish I were among the many here and there who are AF with what seem like no effort. Ya know??!!

Anyway - I cheer because I need the cheering too, so thanks for coming back around for me! I hope the both of you are doing well too. I should've done a PM but too late now! LOL Hope all else is well for you and anyone else who happens upon this. AA does have some good BS:
"Keep coming back! It works if you work it!" comes to mind as one -

You are making progress - just keep *trying* for AF and soon Topomax will kick in and make it happen. Then it should be easier.
