I commented to the Newsweek article and made my Newsweek username "www.thesinclairmethod.com". I used the same avatar there that I use here and I told everyone what my username is here on this site.

I also wrote a summary of my experience and sited a medical reference book to back up our claims. I didn't bash AA, just stated the facts as I see them. I also stressed that we have no profit motive here and nothing to gain except to help those who need help.

I hope someone will be moved to visit our helpful site.

Bob

Bob,

Well put.

FYI - when I put in sinclairmethod.com I get a Sarasota, FL address. I need to use sinclairmethod.net to get the forum. Do you know why that is?

Nice job Bob. Very diplomatic! Maybe when I'm further along in this thing I'll cool down little. I can't resist being a smartass with those people. That book is so full of circular logic and devices designed to break down people's self esteem that it pisses me off when people defend it as if it were the only to go. I find it abhorrent that most people are sent to AA fiirst, as I believe it seriously damages people's self esteem. I don't have a problem with the people in AA per se. I still have several friends there. I do, however, have a serious fundamental beef with the Big Book and the creepy "group consciousness" thing. I also really get pissed at those who shoot down any other method, and there are a lot of those :D

Here's to more TSM pub in the future

I've just added a post , ( " Mikey Dread " was my used name ) in the comments of the Newsweek article .
Well done Bob and fellow tsmers from here who posted there , I really hope it'll yield good for some people and bring them in here and onto tsm recovery . It'll certainly be interesting to
see what it gives quantitattively . I wonder how many readers see such an on line article _ how many it reaches compared to the conventional newsweek magazine .
That poster who listed their five or so points as to why tsm won't catch on sounded like they were with us yet saw the "enemy " they 're right - So .. ok it'll be a battle ahead but it just has to be done . We're getting there !!
Have a good pharmacalogical weekend everyone .

I've been thinking about pitching an article about TSM (since I'm a writer and all), but I'm not sure which outlet to try. Was thinking perhaps of AARP: The Magazine, but they're devilishly hard to break into. Anyone have any ideas? Then I could interview y'all! (as everyone runs for the exit)

Actually, I think most of the comments seemed pretty open minded and fair. There were only a couple that were lame.

Weird Oh...You could interview me anytime. I'm just still struggling though. But I think its important to have everyone cured and those of us that aren't to help bring light onto Eskapa's title. My one year anniversary is in a week and I'm sad but happy too. I've met some wonderful people here. and as we get more cured folk (and I think I'll be there within 18 months), we REALLY need a convention. Especially now that Newsweek is starting to get wind of it.

My best, Jim

PS Hurricane Earl is unlashing its fury. The winds 20 MPH are blowing the leaves around in the yard HELP!!!! Oh and I guess its raining too

I'm saddened to hear that Eskapa thinks this site is full of misinformation - he has it in hands to correct that, even occasionally, by posting here.

I wish he'd shown the same concerns when choosing the tagline "Drink yourself sober" for his book - that phrase, to my mind, does more damage to the credibility than any of the (in his view) dubious postings here.

Finally ... an article in the mainstream media. This is so exciting!

And great comments you all made. I don't understand why some AA zealots out there refuse to consider the possibilty that science may have found an answer, at least for some of us.

I will add my comments to the pro-TSM chorus if I end up being among the 78%!

(and Jim ... I LOVE the convention idea!) :)
