LOL. Didn't really make me feel bad in a bad way. I was just empathizing with you from having been in that type of marriage. IT was a good thing for me to be reminded about why I am tackling this beastwe call AL. so glad to her about this progress! :D

Hubs' doc had started him on vitamin D after some lab work showed a bad deficiency. She had also said his liver enzymes were bad. I remembered some mention of milk thistle extract here so came back and read all the posts and we picked up some of that to go with the vitamin D.

Hubs had a checkup yesterday but they didn't draw any blood. The doc talked to us some more about going to AA and al-anon. She also told us about a patient she had prescribed baclofen for. She was really enthusiastic about that. Doesn't seem much interested in nal but is OK with continuing the prescription.

Mostly I think we should just stay the course for now. Maybe read up on the baclofen for later?

I just had a checkup and my doc said the same thing: get more vitamin D. He said that the best way to get it, by far, is simply to spend a few minutes in the sun every day. Not enough to give you skin cancer, but enough to allow the normal process to work.

I tried baclofen and felt it was trying to work, but my doc would only prescribe me half the dosage I'd read was necessary. He was afraid I'd doze off at the wheel or something, but since I work from home, I doubt that would have been a problem. I'm of the opinion that whether it's naltrexone, baclofen or toad vomit, I'll try whatever has the best chance of working. OK, maybe not toad vomit. But you know what I mean.
