HI Guys and Gals,

I ran out of NAL tonight and thankfully my very original Shrink hooked me up

I appreciate her calling me back and filling my scrip.

Best, Jim.....5 units in 2 more probably plus herb....still better than last year....I hope my liver is ok

PS Edited because of too much political and social commentary. Jim aint that pompous  Or at least he aint now

Yeah I prodice /engineer/play guitar on stuff. My day job is renting audio gear, but I stay busy making little records in my free time. finally think I'm getting decent at it. you play pianer right? you ever mess with a tack-hammer piano? I've got a cheap upright piano in my place and am thinking about putting tacks in. but I don't want to ruin it, unless the guy who owns it says go ahead. It is a piece. one leg is all broken up but it still stands.

If its a cheap upright, then I would consider it.

Here's the problem....

Once you commit, its a rap for that piano and thats the only way it will sound.

BTW....12.25 AM 2 units. Maybe its starting to happen. Certainly no cravings but ultimately I want to have more. Habit....Its something I grapple with on a daily....My Best, Jim

Edited for pomposity reasons

@joe12pack-I have experience as a piano technician and just wanted to confirm what Jim said-putting tacks in the hammers will be the end of that set of hammers. They're made of compressed felt and once the point that strikes the strings has been broken by the tacks they will never sound the same if the tacks are taken out. There is a non-invasive option which consists of a rail with 88 strips of cloth with a little piece of metal on each strip. The rail can be raised for normal sound or lowered to put the metal things between the hammer and strings, giving more or less the same sound as tacks. You'd probably have to go through a local technician to find such a thing and get it installed.

However, if it's a total beater with severely worn hammers already, no big deal.

Jerry

thanks guys. I think I'll try a sample first. this one is a total beater, but seems easier anyway just to use a sample
