Thnks One 4 th road... Great wisdom. Mario u cracked me up. Damn funny that u'd walk thru rain for choc now... But never for wine.

Great week 8. 20 units 4 AF.

BUT hvg a very very stressful start to week 9 and have already had 12.5 units in 2 nites .... With a big nite planned for thurs and Friday. Uggh.

Anyway I'll bask in the afterglow of a 20 unit week and pray there are more of them soon.

Can anyone tell me whether the 18 unit week that Dr Eskapa rates as a safe level for women... Is thus UK or us measure?

Kiwi. :-)

Forgot to mention...
In New Zealand the only way to get Nal initially is through the Alcohol and Drug Addiction clinics.... And of course they told me to abstain while on the drug. I promised I would then raced out the door with my prescription. Wahooooooo.

At 8 weeks I got a call from the senior counsellor (spelling?) and I told him I was doing TSM and I challenged him to research it. I was pretty bold... And told him about this site... And how much success people are hvg. He humoured me and listened (kinda like one listens to a senile aunt) but hey he listened. Watch this space. He thinks he's there to check in on me.... Imagine his surprise in a couple of weeks when I ring to check on him... And see if he has checked out TSM.

Will let you know how I get on.

Kiwichick.

That's a risky proposition. you got the guts. Hope it goes well. But I bet if he doesn't go along with it you can just promise him you won't drink with it. luckily I have a shrink who's knowledgeable enough to know that Nal and Al are not dangerous together. even if she doesn't quite fully buy in to TSM. she definitely had an issue with the word cure and she does take my blood though. and the pharmacist says "you know not to drink with this medicine right?" yeah right. when are they gonna change the instructions on the package. so many lazy doctors just do what it says on the package and don't research naything

REALLY Stressful week at work. Kids off school sick. Awards night Friday. Not sleeping well.
Stress is a HUGE trigger for me.
Still eating huge amnts carbs. Feeling really bad about that.

Week 10 only marginally better than 9.

31 units and 2AF.
Cravings pretty high and appear to be inextricably linked to stress at work. Hmmm ... Maybe I should give up working. Then I wouldnt have stress..... And wouldn't be able to pay for the wine.

Day one of week 11 as I type this.... And it's my first AF for a few days. Hope to have a few more this week.

Week 11. 25 units. 3 AF.
Was the sober driver for hubby on sat night. First time in years.
Finally got my head sorted about the food intake and started getting back to low carb in last few days.
Hoping my sugar cravings die down. Also... Planning on trying for an average of 4 AF per week.

I've decided I hate putting on weight as much as I hate being an alcoholic... So gonna beat both at same time. Fired up to get life sorted.

IM IN CONTROL. NOT THE BOOZE AND NOT THE FOOD. GRRRRR.

Right now I have that off my chest... Hope everyone has a great week.

Kiwi.

Ha, I have the same problem was youtwith regard to both drinking and food. I'm on the low-carb/paleo diet. I have been successful with this in the past but I have kind of slackened off it a bit. I'm going to stick to it now as much as is practical!

Hi Kiwi!

Looks like you are making some great progress! Hang in there ... I know from quitting drinking completely once for four months, the sugar cravings do subside after awhile, then the pounds start coming off too.
