[quote="Firebird"]Bob, these days you must rarely drink more than one or two in a night. Does it ever seem like it's hardly worth taking a nal for that? Of course your chart demonstrates that it is absolutely worth it to follow the program as directed...quote]
I understand exactly what you mean!
Lately, when I plan on having one after dinner, then I don't feel like it, so I don't. The only time when I drink now is socially, which is rarer right now, or when I feel like a drink, I know I'll have to drink before supper. If I drink before supper, most of the time I'll want another, so I'll purchase 3 beers "just in case". The last "morning-after", three seemed like it was too much now, so I'll be switching to purchasing just two from here on out. I am in a habit now where I have an AF week or more after I have one drinking session.
I committed to continuing this grand science experiment for a full 3 years to see where it takes me. I suspect that in another few months, I'll only drink on select social occasions and never by myself any more. We shall see.
Bob
PS My original goal when I started was abstinence or moderate drinking. Oddly, right now I am neither according to NIAAA. I still drink, therefore I am not abstinent, but I drink less than a moderate drinker. Their definition for a light drinker is 3 or fewer drinks per week on average, which what I am doing right now (1.6 drinks per week).
