great to hear! Keep it up but don't be surprised if you spike in units. I think I'm going through that right now. ouch

The good news: TSM is working for you! The bad news: true extinction takes months and an immediate decrease in drinking while on naltrexone is almost definitely "the honeymoon." It probably won't last and you will probably see a spike so do not despair when you do. Long-term drinkers need to think 6-12 months minimum for dramatically improved control.

Week 2 has started off well..Sunday, Monday and Tuesday all 3 units each....again I took the Nal around 6 and did not drink until 7 or 7 :30....I am very happy with this as I have said I always was watching for the clock at 5...the irritability seems to be going away and overall I am feeling much better...I am sleeping and waking up rested with NO HANGOVER....I KNOW THIS IS THE HONEYMOON BUT I AM REALLY ENJOYING IT!!!!! Kids out of school today for the summer and I am hopeful...Maybe this program will change my life...I have tried everything... ;)

Today is Saturday..the last day of week 2...Wednesday i had 4 units. Thursday had to travel for business...had a happy hour at 5:30 ...so i popped the nal at 4 and drank 6 units total from 5:30 all the way to 12:00 AM ...crazy....2 of people i had dinner with that have know me forever noticed and commented...I had control for the first time in so long...i did not want more....weird...i usually would of been in very bad shape and typically in a blackout - especially being out of town - on a drinking night of this length...this felt great....Last night Friday I finished at 4 units....So I am feeling happy and hopeful that this will continue...I go on holiday next week....I will post tomorrow the weeks end report...thanks all...

Today is Monday and I'm happy with where my second week ended up ...here's how the totals went...

PRE TSM 36 - 56 UNITS
WEEK 1 - 33.5 NO AF
WEEK 2
Day 1 - 4
Day 2 - 3.5
Day 3 - 3.5
Day 4 - 4.5
Day 5 - 4.5
Day 6 - 4
Day 7 - 5
Total Units 29 No AF

I wish there had been at least one AF ...maybe this week...But happy that units went down again...The Nal give me a level of control that I have not have in so long...Holidays around the corner so I will take it faithfully...I am still very hopeful... ;)

keep on rockin. don't expect too much too fast. That was particularly hard for me. here I am in week 12, and I have to keep reminding myself that it will probably take a few more months. eskapa's :ugeek: book says 3 months, but most people here seem to take longer. like 6-12

Hi momof2 ... great week! I am curious, are you trying to moderate or just drinking what you feel like drinking?

Finally posting again...not much had changed until this week.....This past Sunday marks the beginning of week 10. It has been up and down until this week but had been drinking every night...just like usual....I had a great honeymoon that faded. My drinking returned to nearly the same except with more control most nights and less blackouts...I still took my Nal religiously just drank like always ....I never had a Alcohol free night the whole past 9 weeks ..... and then last Saturday had a bad night but was out of town...yuck....this week I seem to of had some change or switch...I have had 2 AF days and only 3 glasses of wine besides that (1 each night I did drink) and it is FRIDAY....I tried to drink last night and just did not want it...maybe it is working....has anyone had similar experience or am i fooling myself? Feeling hopeful...Thanks...
