Thanks Lena. He's a really wonderful guy, but I hate to say that my patience is wearing pretty thin at this point. He doesn't get nearly as sloppy nearly as often, but now when I can see him start to get a buzz I get so upset. Plus, at night when he's buzzed, he feels like it's totally reasonable to wake me up at all hours because he wants to hang out. I had to take some time off of work because I'm getting too stressed out and losing sleep over all this, and I'm finding it so hard to be nice and compassionate after all this time. All I gotta say is that this had better work! I miss my old boyfriend, although I see more and more of him lately.

He's now on week 14 of "real" Sinclair Method - at a full 50 mg dose. Hopefully this works before we both have to go check in to the nuthouse. :P

Take good care of yourself. I had a conversation recently with a friend about Alanon. As much as I personally detest AA, ironically the concept of Alanon makes sense to me. Members don't work on their loved ones' problems, as many think of that group; they work on their own "character defect" of being a fixer/rescuer/enabler/rescuer or whatever you want to call it. I'm definitely not suggesting going to a meeting. I've heard some of them can be even more cultish than AA. But you might want to give some thought to making sure your own needs are a priority. I'm not suggesting I sense a problem either. In fact, it sounds like you are very devoted and have your own limits pretty well under control. And I'm happy you use us as part of your support system. I'm just trying to point out that, to the many of us who have dealt with alcoholics (besides ourselves :) ) we know what an energy drain it can be. So I hope you have a great support system in place as you deal with this. We've got your back here but I can't imagine that would be enough!! Let us know how it's going.
