The BAC takes the cravings and desire away once you hit a high dosage "the switch" you stay on the high dosage for awhile (weeks) and then you begin to tritate down slowly watching so the cravings don't come back and that's the dosage you stay at to be AL free. People who seem to do both BAC and Nal are doing it so they don't drink as much and still can take the Nal for the cure, extinction which would mean they would eventually go off of the BAC completely and just take the Nal only when they decide to drink. Does that make sense? Hope that helps.

Makes perfect sense and so glad we are all here holding hands as we start this! Thx, corkit!! Have hope again, this time in a few weeks instead of months, I will "hit the switch"...

Hey... new here.

Just started on nal. today. Only felt a little sick. After researching this method for over a month, I thought this may be a good thing for moi.

Not sure that I agree with the term "cured" because while I don't feel abuse is a disease nor do I feel it's genetic, I do feel it's something that we will always carry with us... regardlss of cravings that may come or not.

The mind has so many facets that we do not know what will trigger that lock on the Pandora's Box.

I got to this place after wls...subbing alcohol for food. It's very disheartening. Surgeons and their advisors don't warn potential patients of this and when you ask them at a support meeting they say "go to AA" yeah okay.

Anyway maybe this should be on the newbie thread and if it should be moved, so be it.

Hey beachgirl, welcome! This is kindof a strange thread for you to introduce yourself on, but that's ok. Good luck with this - typically those who feel that nausea in the beginning will be successful w/ this method. What site is "wls" that you were on before?

Let us know how it goes w/ you.

Took me a year at least to get cured. I figured that was normal. Patience helps. But I use Naltrexone.
