Started with 50 mg. Nice honeymoon, big side effects. Loopy and sleepy. Reduced the dosage to 25 mg. Side effects went away drinking picked up. I had a big night of drinking last night so I'll increase the dosage to 37mg and see how it goes. No hurry to get the side effects back.
I know this is not a one week program but I did enjoy the control I had. I was very satisfied with a drink or two. If nothing else, it showed me what life may soon be like.

Pre-TSM 40 to 60 units/wk
week #1 .....26 units 2 units the first two days, 10 units last night. So much for the honeymoon...

Now back on on full dose 50 mg. Side effects fading fast. Still a bit sleepy. Drinking is stabilizing around 6 units per night. I find it most pleasant that I quit drinking each night before blacking out, falling asleep on the couch , or stumbling into bed. Very enjoyable just deciding I had enough. What do you all think? Just the honeymoon? or real change.

Settling in and ready for the long haul. I can't see turning back.

Week#2 .....42 units

True extinction takes a lot longer than two weeks -- definitely still the honeymoon. But the great news is that for everyone here, if they have the honeymoon, TSM works for them! Congratulations. Hang in there, the road to total control is a non-linear rollercoaster ride. But TSM does work and will work for you.

Sorry for being away for a while, I plan on being here more to often carry my share of the load.

All of your comments are greatly appreciated. Things are now leveled off. Side effects gone, drinking continues but under some control. I'm in a great mood. I had a great day at work, jobs coming back, big contracts, very exiting. It was late in the day so the Nal was wearing off. I was nearly overcome with a great positive feeling. I think the endorphins were getting through. Felt great. I'm now planning a AF day next week when the weather warms up. I want to experience a day without NAL taken the night before.
Dreams are a bit interesting. Not sure if it's the Nal or reduced drinking. Any ideas?

I haven't been noticing any different dreams, I always had freaky dreams, so I can't speak to that, but it looks as if we are having similar results form TSM so far. I'll post my weekly progress tomorrow, but this week should end up about the same as last unless I blow it out tonight hardcore. Glad we started at the same time. We're in this thing together. I truly hope that if this doesn't work for me that it works for you. but I really hope it works for us both. Lets stick with it. looks like we're doing great so far according to Nick and others. we've got a long way to go though

Last nigh was a bad night but for most nights I'm drinking less. Not because I'm trying to I just stop after 4 or 5 glasses of wine. I don't have the drive to keep drinking to keep the buzz going. I'll be happy if that is all I get out of this.

Todd, it sounds like you're doing great so please don't get discouraged the drinking didn't happen in a few months so it makes sense that the cure won't come in a few months either. Hang in there I see your name in the Cure List column!

good luck

Steady as she goes, Todd, you are doing great.

Yes, from day one naltrexone has given me (and many others here) weird, vivid dreams, like nothing I've had before. Last night I busted out of a nazi concentration camp. My nal dreams always seem to involve violence -- during the first few weeks of TSM I committed multiple homicides.
