After (for me) a very bad insecure depressed weekend, my husband came home from the family camp having brought with him his movie player and a porno movie,(how did I know? DUH?)

Monday, I went to my pilate class, after kicking myself out of the bed, came home for a good lunch, and an interesting discussion about sex, which by the way I was saving for the therapy tomorrow.

ANYHOW after a long talk with my sis and my cousin a good plan was to drive the man to the Bunny Ranch in Nevada for a little activity, see if he could get his moneys worth, Or try to seduce, induce him myself. Well at the Fool's Day Parade yesterday I did acquire a neat little black guarder belt, (they throw those out for the grown ups, salt water taffy for the kids) but darn, I just could not find my nylons,(bad modern girl!) I have them in the closet somewhere.

So without the outfit, and with the help of my prior movie watching... (over the weekend needed to catch up cause I realized he had the porno tape I watched the Karma Sutra DVD on Netflicks.) Soooooo.....

Today we took a little time off in the Monday afternoon.

OH what's the point? We had a planned shopping and later went to our local Food For Humans, I left to dash to the regular market, for ice cream, and HUH! WHAT ELSE? (is it Karma?)

I left him at the register and he gave me his wool shirt to bring out to the car, on my way out the door, I heard something drop. I turned and picked it up. It was his note book and it had a page in it with a outline for a personal ad. It read: Senior, eccentric, looking for a young (55+) lady to share a few years of a fun, something something, life, ...
Whoops! The funny thing is it was just there!

I stupidly addressed it, and all ---- broke loose.

In the end, we calmed down, and now we are home, kitties on the lap, but dear girls, and eddie and R, there is so much more. Talk about the problems and fun of the on line dating.....that's my contribution.

Ok, most of my stupid stories are actually about relationships, but that's off topic, so I'll tell a stupid dating story. There was this lovely lady who I got to know not too long after my divorce (when I was 30ish). She was very pretty - a dancer and a pastry chef. We flirted a lot while hanging out with our mutual social group. We were both new to the social group, so it took us a while to get close enough for me to actually ask her out, but we flirted a LOT prior to that. I asked her if she wanted to do something, and she suggested I drop by her place and we hang out. So far, so good.

So I show up to her place and she answers the door in lingerie that was suggestive but not revealing. I've learned that, under those circumstances, it's not a terribly good idea to be standoffish. It was only about half an hour of flirtatious conversation before I tried to kiss her. I was more than a little surprised when she dodged it. I figured that maybe she just wasn't comfortable or warmed up yet, so I continued the conversation and other interaction until I started to get appropriate signals again, but she dodged me again. At that point I really started wondering what was going on, but went around again for a cautious third try, which she again avoided.

At this point I asked her if there was a problem, and she said that she wanted to see how long she could go before I kissed her. I told her that I was going to have to let her win that game, grabbed my jacket and left.

I'm not sure I even want to know what she was thinking. We avoided each other for months after that.

Awww RR. Avoid a kiss? That's kooky - kissin' is one of the biggest pleasures in life! I just saw (on Oprah) that couples should have at least one lingering (10 seconds or longer) kiss per day to maintain an intimate, happy bond. Only one in three women in the audience had been kissed like that once in two weeks.

ART, I am so sorry for what you're going through. It's sad for both of you. . .he can't understand your drinking, and wants more out of life. I get that. But I'd hope he could decide to either work at your marriage exclusively, or put you both out of your misery so you have a chance to start over.

But hey - isn't that what this is about? A chance to start over? Maybe once TSM starts really kickin' in for you, hubby will start to see the person he fell in love with again. We're pulling for you here, GF. Either way, it's obvious you're a savvy gal, and a survivor!

I am going to respond to ART in a PM - she is trying to circle the wagons in a personal way, girls, and I am in with her. But generally speaking...

Men and their porn is not uncommon. We have to be pretty strong with our own self-esteem to accept it, but I don't have a problem with it, as I know men are visual, it's pretty mindless stuff, etc., ART didn't either. It was finding her husband's ad!!!! OMG - ART!!!

I can't believe how calmly you handled it!! But obviously there are more issues than meet the eye. Your husband is a fool to look beyond you. Also be aware - there are many STDs out there that are easily transmittable & not just HIV. The herpes virus - altho the argument could be (and is right) a person could have it for years with no symptoms - if the symptoms suddenly appear in a partner, chances are it's a new infection. It's rare to walk around unknowing...so you may want to insist on rubbers if you think he may be testing the waters.

It's not deadly, just annoying. Cold sores, shingles, etc are all herpes viruses but not genital herpes...tho can be transmitted that way if a person has active lesions. Be careful & be safe. I would take NO chances. HIV has spiked in women aged 55 - 70. I know I mentioned here or somewhere I've had it for 20+ years. Caught from a steady boyfriend before I got married....only had 2 men out of countless reject me and only 1 caught it. That's a whole 'nuther story...and the one that has had me nursing a broken heart for the last 2 years...I am stupid. And full of stories

And I digress. One last thing - WTE, your line about height: "You must be this tall to ride this ride" has cracked me up every since. I have gotten so much mileage from that line!! LOVE it, girl!! THX -
