You are still relatively early into TSM with a start date of 1/22. Don't even think about giving up. It took me more like six months before I started getting control. How long have you been drinking? For we long-timers (over 15 years), extinction appears to take twice as long as the 3-4 months advertised in the book.

You will find lots of info about baclofen here and at MWO. However, as Nick and others point out, it is important to give TSM a good long time to work its magic.

NC from MWO here. Thanks for your response on that forum. Just to reiterate what I am doing.
Started Bac Nov 1, Nal Dec 1. Am up to 290 mg Bac a day. Somnolence is my problem. Still am not indifferent to alcohol yet.
My consumption is 3 to 4 glasses of wine a night. I want to be abstinent and thus want to keep going up with the Bac as long as
I can tolerate it. But real progress has been made. I used to drink to the point of passing out every night and have not done that for a couple
of months. So, I am pretty happy with things, but not at the point I want to be.

My program is a work in progress. I feel like I can keep going up with the Bac. Somnolence is my only problem which is why it has
taken me 4 months to get to 290 mg a day.

There are many of us trying BAC now. I just got my order and plan to start tomorrow. Am in contact with a reliable source who is under the care of one of the DRs mentioned in the book. The protocol related to me is:
Days 1-4 take 5 mgs/day (lets your body get used to it)
Days 5-7 take 10 mgs/day
Week 2: take a total of 30 mgs split 3x/day
Week 3: increase @ 20 mgs/day until you have no desire for AL.

I may see how the SEs are for me and maybe at week 3 just increase @ 10 mgs/day. But again, this is the protocol from the DR who knows Dr A. Who knows when we might "hit the switch"...keeping my fingers crossed, as usual.

Your week 3 is pretty agressive. I tried increasing 20mg/day at around week 3, and was hammered by SE's that took a few days to subside. On the other hand, Lo0p and craving took a really agressive approach and succeeded. I'm goinjg to try a more agressive titration in May.

So, its about 8:00a, and I'm guessing you just took your first dose - exciting!. Please keep posting.

My bad: 20 mgs/wk increase @ week 3, like you said. Big difference! No, my package is in limbo at a distant PO, so hoping they will follow my intructions and redeliver tomorrow....nervous but excited!

My approach is similar to yours. I did 6 weeks of TSM before starting baclofen. I included baclofen because I was feeling absolutely no effect from TSM alone. In fact, I feel almost no effect so far with TSM + baclofen. This worries me, but I will definitely carry on. There was a recent post here from a person that did TSM for a few weeks, started baclofen, and hit the switch in four days at only 60mg.

I don't know. I went up to 290 and had bad somnolence so went back to 280 and feel good. Am going up to 285 today and see how I feel.
I think as long as I can titrate slowly without somnolence I will just keep going at least over 300 and maybe higher.
