My doctor doesn't want to prescribe Nal because I am taking ACE inhibitors. Is there a danger?

Dr. Eskapa does not answer medical questions. He would refer you to your doctor.

ACE inhibitors and naltrexone are listed among drugs that potentially cause liver toxicity (notice -- so is alcohol). You may want to point out to your doctor (who got his information from the naltrexone package insert) that the liver toxicity from naltrexone is due to a single study that showed elevated liver enzymes in 3 of 26 obese subjects given 300 mg doses of naltrexone. This info is in the package insert just below the warning box. It is also on pp. 216-217 in Eskapa's book, which is the "For Medical Professionals" chapter in which Eskapa sets out the package insert with his own comments/explanations/rebuttal. Here's a link to a reprint on this board of that chapter, which you may want to print out and take to your doctor.
