Just a quick question.
What is the name of the medication that is similar to naltrexone (opoid blocking response) but easier on the liver
than naltrexone?

If anyone finds a source, please post. Last I heard, it is not available in U.S. or Western Europe. I haven't found it available from any of the internet pharmacies either.

This drug could put TSM over the top. As the Wikipedia article explains, it gives more broad receptor coverage than naltrexone, which could be the missing piece of the puzzle for those not getting a great result.

WHY ISN'T THIS DRUG AVAILABLE???????

Conspiracy theories, anyone?

No conspiracy, I just think its still in the trial period. It will not be widely produced until a North American or European country approves its use.

However, if you are looking for a conspiracy, here's a good one:

Lena, here is what Biotie emailed me about Nalmefene

Thank you for your e-mail and interest in nalmefene. Unfortunately it is still an investigational compound and thus cannot be obtained by prescription at the present time.

kind regards

Update on Nalmefene from Biotie Therapies, not what we wanted to hear.

Thank you for your e-mail, and apologies for the delayed response. I also regret to inform that there is unfortunately no concrete time frame for when nalmefene might be available commercially in the US.

Kind regards

I recommend anyone taking taking nal take milk thistle and alpha lipoleic acid at the same time because they help and can clear the liver. This is what I have read extensively. I do this.

WHat about elsewhere? IS it available in other countries? If so, then couldn't we get it that way?

I really wish I couod take that instead of NALtrexone. My liver is in rough shape and could use a break,..I too take Milk Thistle....also known as silymarin.

All people on TSM should be taKING THAT, I wasn't familiar with Potatos other supplement but will look into it too.

well depending on your liver and how much help you need. I would say you need ala which is called alpha lipoleic acid because it transports bad stuff away from your liver. What milk thistle does is is help your liver cells regain strength and even has been known to get a few new ones going. now finally Dandelion can help it lift weights. it makes the liver stronger but it is just basically the same as milk thistle. Actually milk thistle and dandelion and sillymariin are all the same thing. How ever if you take l carnitine with ala things will move faster. they just work well together. best wishes. :)
