Hello, I am the spouse of TSMer, and post pretty regularly here. It's now been 90 days since my wife began her treatment and I thought I would give my take on things. I want you all to know how much I admire those taking steps to change their lives, and how much we, as family members are positively affected by your brave efforts. For me to enjoy 3 months without more than a few days being seriously impacted by alcohol is a complete miracle. Yes, part of this is my confidence in the program and my acceptance of the drinking component, but there have also been REAL changes in my wife. Significantly, the last eight days were dotted with only 2 drinking days and noticeable control on those occasions. As I have written before, I was pessimistic about the drinking session quantities, but I think I am starting to feel the change in that department too. She is really working on that part and wants it to change. The Mrs. can easily plan her AF days on school nights and does not obsess (much) about booze anymore. Yes, she gets strong cravings sometimes and drinks through them, but things are really different now. Habit and certain triggers still persist, but the horrible, overwhelming cravings are all but gone. I'm sure there will be spikes and I will probably have to bite my tongue a few more times, but I am a very happy man and feel like my family will stay together because of TSM. This was truly a last resort, and I am thankful to the community here for their support.

Yay, you, for your support of your wife. And congratulations to your wife too. May your lives be blessed with continual improvement and commitment.

I am so happy to hear from a spouse open minded enough to give this a try. It really worked well for me and is still working. My life is tremendously better because of taking Naltrexone one hour before any alcohol consumption. If your wife keeps following the rule you should see great improvements in both your lives. Cheers of encouragement to you both. :D

Yes, thanks for being that supportive spouse. And I'm glad things are going in the right direction! After 10+ months of this, I can tell you things only get better in the long run, so don't be surprised by an occasional setback. Even "normal" people overdo it on occasion. But with time, TSM really works for those that it works for. I'm glad she's one of those that it is working on. :)

Bob
