my Lioresal (Baclofen) 25mg pills have the inscription "U|R" - which I consider very appropirate. Everytime when seeing it I like to read "U R Free"

finished today my 11 consequetive AF day - this would have been totally impossible without Baclofen!!

Had today an appointment with my dentist - and for the first time in my life I did not care at all! Baclofen seems to take away my anxiety - at the same time it keeps my mind sharp for the important things that matter. I think I was never this clear before in my head!

Wow - I'm fascinated by this. So you are taking 50 mgs NAL plus the Bac at varying times & doses and now seeing this radical change? Does taking BAC make you not want to drink at all? If you do drink on BAC does it increase the effects. Is is dangerous to continue TSM while on BAC?

And taking BAC makes you feel kinda spacey? What about working out? Tell me more.

Glad it's working for you, but I just want to know more...details please about everything.

I am only taking 50mg Nal when I am drinking - which is hardly happening now. I am happy that my opoid receptor is not blocked anymore - better reinforcement when doing sports.
The Craving is totally gone, I feel kind of spacey yes - but in a very positive way. It is not the alcohol spacey that lets you get lazy. You feel like you want to do something, and I actually have as much energy now than ever before. In general I feel the anxiety relief - I did not figure I had any problems with anxiety - but I do feel clear positive effects!
If it is the Bac or being almost 12 AF days now - I do not know. I clearly feel the positive effects, and I am not looking forward to drink!

I think Bac increases the effects of alcohol - still you don't get this kind of kick in your brain. I could drink on Bac - but I prefer not to. Without the craving the relief of drinking alcohol is zero.

Also I am hardly sleeping now, and I am not feeling tired at all! Yesterday 6 hours, Today 5 hours. It is totally insane. I am curious for its long term effects. It is making me sleepy at night, but I manage to stay up - and when I sleep I get up at 5-6 am

It is excellent for working out. I took higher doses when doing sports and it was excellent, it suddenly went all so easy. I am not working out professional at all - just doing normal sports - I can not confirm about being able to lift more weights - but I feel hardly pain when doing sports and when I feel pain it is gone fastly after.

Baclofen has return my self confidence. Althougher the facts are amazing. Bac acts as a substitute for Alcohol - keeps your health, regenerates your self confidence and reliefs your anxiety. So all the opposite as Alcohol!

One could argue that it is Bac - or the relief for my system of the dirty drug alcohol!

I am telling you people this sh*t is a performance enhancing substance. I'm about 3 weeks away from posting some pics that will make you fall out of your chair.

This is exactly what it does. It keeps you from feeling fatigued. Houtx, did you read that study I found in the link I gave you where they put rats on treadmills after giving them baclofen?

I was lucky enough that I found myself in a position to go back through all of my logs and could actually measure the difference that it made for me. It wasn't like 'gee I don't feel tired as much'. It was more like 'gee I can usually only lift X amount of weight X times before I fall on the floor and curl up in a ball. But now i can lift 1.5X amount of weight X times and do cartwheels across the gym and come back and do it again'.

On my 'leg day' I'm now pushing the equivalent of two and a half minivans and on my drive home I feel like I wanna go back and do some more. And I'm a small dude.

again a night with 5 hours sleep. Baclofen has interesting effects on me! I would sign the performance enhancing substance!
I have now a theory on Baclofen. I am sleeping almost right away (when I want to sleep!) when taking it and I am sleeping very deep.
So more REM - more relaxing sleep - less time needed for relaxing sleep.

Anyone having the same impression? I really enjoy sleeping 5-6 hours. I am not tired at all!
Maybe this is just a reaction to my constant increase in dose? - any will be gone once I am adjusted to the dose?

I am experiencing a 100% relief of my craving symptoms. By now I can not understand anymore why I was drinking alcohol at all!
Going to a conference in a month and I am thinking of excuses not to drink it! I would have normally used this excuse to binge, as all people drink there. Now I want to actively keep my abstinence.
Want to reach my goal of 6 months reduced alcohol intake, so I can make a blood checkup. I was never diagnosted alcohol disorder and I want to keep it that way. My offical medical does not reference it.

Was thinking of telling people I am taking a muscle relaxant against my backpains and it is dangerous to take alcohol meanwhile being on it - to use that as an excuse. (it is not the case though).
Any idea if that will be taken as a valid reason?

Anyone failed with TSM (like me) should consider threatment with Bac. TSM has deleted my opoid receptor addiction over the term of 8 months and now Bac is helping me on the GABA addiction part.

Hey, I'm really happy for you. This is fantastic.

I'm on the bac about 6 days now and notice many of the same things. I don't take enough that I notice anything other than a little drowsiness, but even 30mgs seems to push me over the edge into "don't really care about drinking". My drinking has fallen off a cliff too. It's really incredible, it seems to tickle exactly something that was out of alignment in my brains, and leave everything else intact. I'm guessing the needing less sleep and increased sex drive (which I've got too) are partially baclofen, partially the body rebounding from alcohol... in any case it's all good stuff, no question.

Hey Ned,

glad this is working out for you! Bac is really amazing, never before had a such indifference to alcohol.

You will soon need to reduce the dose to keep the results. I am for now comfortable with taking 250mg a day. Craving is totally gone, and I am sleeping avg. 5-6 hours a night, and not feeling tired.
Not to think of all the extra awake time I get through this! Usually was sleeping 9-10 hours before! (before alcohol less though).

Only problem I have right now are sleep apnoe. I made a video of myself and even after closing my eyes 1 minute I went into REM and I could find my breathing stop for 10-20 seconds before taking a big deep breath and waking up. Considering to reduce the dose, I want to stay for 2-3 weeks on a high level though, as that seems to do the trick to later on reduce the dose to around 120mg

I am totally fascinated and pretty much now convinced this is the next go-to drug for me. (No cravings for AL, increased sex drive, increased work-out drive??? HELLOO!!!!!!!) Yes/No, LoOp, I have looked at your charts and tables but many of them I really just can't read...or too much information to comprehend. Color me dense...(or lazy :-)

All I want to hear is BAC will make me not want to drink. Anything over that claim is icing on the cake...so, OMG an increased sex drive (altho right now I am loving myself LOL - let's think to the future! :-)) and that whole increased workout thing just astounds me...yet I question...

So ok, hot-to-trot to try it. What do you suggest I ask my DR to start me on? 100mgs? And are we on it for the rest of our lives?? Or do you think after awhile, once the habit is broken, so can the dependence on BAC?

Thx for the info so far - keep telling us details of anything else you can think of, craving & LoOP

100mg is probably the maximum the doctor will be willing to prescribe officially. In my leaflet it says that above 100mg require stationary treatment!
There are studies demonstrating that it is save to take Baclofen in doses up to 300mg a day - long term studies with people having spasm pains.
Get the doctor to prescribe it for anxiety or spasm pains - offlable usage might not be done by all doctors!

Bac is a substitute to alcohol. Once you get off it you will most likely fall back in old habits and drink again. As Bac is not erasing your craving - it is only overwriting it meanwhile the drug is in your body.

I consider that I will probably need to take Bac for the rest of my life. There are no known negative effects of long term usage of Bac, and even people with spasm pains taking it 30 years have been doing well with it. Bac is changing my life expectation back to normal - I am not going to die from alcohol related illness!

14 AF days so far (2 ENTIRE WEEKS!!)

Would you guys go back and read the last six or seven posts? This sounds scary. You all sound like speed freaks of the 60's.

Be careful. Remember your goal.
