An interesting thread for me too, as my 66 year-old (disabled) father is also an alcoholic. He would never be able to go through a detox/rehab unless it was a comfortable private one.
He is interested in TSM, and is waiting to see how I fare with it (not too well at present!!

- hopefully just part of the rollercoaster.
He is mainly a functioning alcoholic, and seems happy enough to plod along. And, his disablity means it would be impossible to get him to see a TSM doctor (too far away). He is on
such a cocktail of medications already (for heart, lung problems, and depression) there is simply no chance that any study in the world would have been conducted for all the various interactions, and I would be very hesitant to put him on Nal without medical supervision.
