Now , that is one hell of a revelation . I've come to believe that alcohol and its compulsions are a powerful engine of itself . Maybe it's the drink took the drink then the man line . there are always problems and maybe we tend to point to them and see justification for the drinking in this or this hassle but underneath it 's a raw drive
to take the substance . What do you think Q ?

Yes, I think that is probably true for most of us. This also is inline with the Learned Behavior discussed in Dr. Eskapa's book. Those of us who are addicted to alcohol have learned this to such an extent that we do because our brains are so wired for us to do it, even when the results are unpleasant.

Oh dear, Q - I hope your work doesn't depend on your 'diving into your laptop,' or you may be extinguishing an important asset! :geek:

Fantastic news Q!!!

Thanks for the update- it is interesting that you say you can chose how much you want to drink in a given day, I have found the same this week. If I decide I am going to drink 3 beers that evening, I find I can pretty well stick to it.

Our progress seems to be very similar- I still have tonight and tomorrow to go to finish week 6.

Marbella,

Yes, our progress is very similar. I recall Springerider having a similar experience around this time in Sinclair, so it looks like we are on track.

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. Remember, alcohol in a depressant. I almost always feel down on myself the day after excessive drinking. However, today is a new day.

As long as we are taking our Nal, we can't go wrong.

Thank you for the update and comments. It is very encouraging!

Q

I just was writing in my thread about how depressed I am feeling and I just read through this thread and I think I am just having a higher pull towards the juice for some reason, I will try to stick it out. I did take my med first thing this am because I feel I am ready to drink at any
moment. I will try to get my log together.

I've been depressed off and on over the last six weeks, especially after a heavy night of drinking. Keep the faith and just know it will come. The biggest gains for me have come only in the last week or two.
