Merry Christmas to all. I've been lurking but not posting for some time now - a big thanks to all those who post - I've been helped so much. I'll keep you all in my prayers for your success.

I have good things to report. Last night I went to a my first neighbourhood party since Labour Day and I can report that not only did I not get drunk as I usually do at these gatherings, but I had a good time!!!

I have been faithfully taking Nal every evening at 4 pm then having a glass or two of wine with dinner, then stopping. It's been so easy to stop - that's part of it, but the other part is that I just don't get drunk - I don't have that horrible feeling of "oh, how I wish I could throw up and get all this darned booze out of my body, why why why did I do it again"!!!!! And at the party last night I just was not interested in drinking at all. I did because it was appropriate to have a glass or two and I needed the extinction process at this party, but I could have done without!

My final goal is to show up at my daughter's in March and not want to have a drink as soon as I stagger off the plane - but last night was a definite shorter term goal - and it was great!!! Darned but this naltrexone stuff really works!

I can feel it in my bones that this is going to work for me - I'm halfway there. January 5 will be the start of month 4 for me. I'll start then to gently but actively hold back on the daily drinking. I'll post again when I can say with all truth that I'm cured - and yes, I'll be using the "C" word - I'm halfway cured already!! Hang in there all of you. God Bless you and have a safe and happy holiday.

BGH

Thats awsome :D . For me also, its the positive results people have posted here that have pulled me through and gave me serious hope. I love the no crazies ( drunk blackout incedences) that don't happen with naltrexone. Bet your daughter will be shocked when she see's you. Merry Christmas to you also.
