Hello Everyone

We moved and had no net for three weeks , it drove me nuts (more nuts !)
Then I lost the habit of coming on here and found myself lurking unsure what to say .
But in a nutshell it's like this _ either I drink every day owing to stress and it's generally
3 or 4 drinks ( and 10 on odd occaisions ) I'm not very keen on this as it makes my score go to 40 or 50 a week . Otherwise I make an effort and impose AF's and get scores of 20 or 30
(all in UK units ) .But the effort doesn't cost me much . SO I guess I still have alcoholic tendancies but suffer very little damage .
I should change my signature and drop of figures for the research bucket as I approach ten months

I 've gone back to lurking . I read quite alot of posts when coming to this site .
But have stayed quiet since the James Ct drama . partly because of what upset me there .
However for the most part its as alot of people here are doing a fine job answering posts and suporting each other which is as it should be . It's probably more real and lively if that
suport comes from people around the same part of the journey . But I hope any oldtimer like myself can post on their continued progress or not .
The James thing really upset me and brought out the worst in me in an effort to defend tsm
which is such a very good thing I hated it being attacked like that and the resulting fallout
of people actually leaving this forum like Goodman was just too sad . Similar strong feelings about burning books seemed seductive and a good idea at the time even to the mild mannereed Bob . What a bloody hash of thiings I made thankfully Bob pulled back but fancy
even considering it . All the same i hope it gives him personal satisfaction if he does un mediatized .
More recently someone else left in a huff but at leas they seemed reallly serious about taking NAL forever .
personally i'm doing ok after a year three quarters on tsm and a year of it cured .
I have not conformed one hundred percent to the one hour rule but not far off .
Occaisionally what undoes me here is when I'd planned not to drink and of a sudden really fancied a drink . Last night this happened as I came in very late ,, all I wanted was one glass
of beer and lime juice in it , I love that taste , i just so wanted it . in such a case i just
take the pill and wait a quarter of an hour . This occaisional practice does not throw me back to my old ways . I just had the one drink . In general I have two or three and rarely more .
Quantities do not give me any trouble but drinking frequently , most days i'm not so pleased with . Frankly I don't understand it . I'm a shadow of the Alky i was but the shadow never leaves me . I know alot of people know what I mean and have the same concern .
What do we do about it ? Either just live with it and accept happy that Alcohol is no longer
a problem or have a serious crack at abstinence or more Af 's . I intend to do both but have a three year perspective on tsm now . See If enough extinction does n't happen by three years allowing me furhter progress .
Good luck to all . I'll write on my progress here every three months at the least .
Over to the champix thread too .

Elfern, glad to see you are still hanging around and that AL has a only a small place in your world. Your long term view of TSM would seem most wise. Merlot has been sparking some interesting discussion of TSM. Check out those posts if you haven't already. Thanks for stopping back in with a progress post and best of luck with the smoking cessation.

I have to second Saint's sentiments. It's great to hear from someone who is, for us, a pioneer of TSM. Your description of your relationship with alcohol sounds like something many on this board would celebrate for themselves. Keep coming back. Good luck!

It's great to hear from you Elfern-you were one of the early posters I found when I came to this site and I really enjoyed reading your comments. Thanks for your update, there are very few long term outlooks/perspectives here and it's very helpful to those of us in earlier stages. I can't imagine what my life will be like a year from now, but I do know that it will be much better than if I hadn't discovered TSM. I hope you feel the same way.

Wow , two saints and a digetic . those numbers are looking very good digetic - notso much more feeling "crapulous" for you I do hope .
Yes , Saint V, I did see Merlot's posts and was glad to see him /her talk with 37 ° on MWO
because James ct , ever critical of tsm plans to pack in NAL at 3 months , which may be
very foolish giving him the very limited satisfaction of reckoning we were wrong . I suggest
when he does that we tell him he stopped way too soon to speak with authority .
Brighter days are in view . Looking foreward to seeing your full progress alll the way .
