dr eskapa, i have been on this programme for 3 weeks now. noticed no change in amounts drunk or cravings thus far. my question is this i noticed that my craving recordings are mostly the same, mild or not noticeable at all. i seem to be drinking the same amounts out of habit, rather than neccessity. so i am wondering, whether or i should try an AF day or 2 and wait until the cravings are strong before, resorting back to naltrexone and drinking. i hope this doesnt seem a stupid question. best regards. john

hEY John,

There's a nice discussion on the board on Habit VS. Craving. Do a search. I also just saw PV talking about Conscious Intent. Which I think is very insightful.

Welcome to the forum, everyone here is all about support. Post often if you need. BEst, Jim

John, I would recommend you read Dr. Eskapa's book. It will answer your questions, including the one you posted.

But to address your question (and break our rules concerning this area of the board), you will not, and absolutely should not expect to, see any decrease in your drinking at 3 weeks into this. No, I would not recommend an AF day if doing so makes you uncomfortable (but only drink in a safe place where you won't need to drive or do anything else that requires attention, like caring for kids). Just drink as always and let the process take its course. Don't expect to see much change until 3-4 months into it.

Bottom line: If you don't feel like drinking, don't drink. If you do, do it safely.
