I think you may be missing the point, which is not whether you are ok with the criticism, uncivil though it may be. The point is whether, as a guest on this board, you are willing to start being respectful of our community and its goals. This isn't about you. It's about us.

Am I the only person who noticed that RR introduced Dr. Sinclair to the host of shrinkwrap radio, and that interview was highly instrumental in getting much needed publicity for TSM? It seems he has been dedicated to the cause of spreading info regarding TSM to the medical community at large. Some of us may never have heard of this method were it not for RR's dedication to the cause - for whatever reasons. Let's give credit where credit is due.

This is getting way out of hand. Respect does need to go both ways, all. Let's respect RR's right to be interested, and to express his opinion of the facts as he understands them. For his part, RR DID plead mea culpa regarding his interpretation of the length of time this treatment takes to demonstrate results. I didn't see his post as a 'pissing contest,' but rather a humble acknowledgement of the facts, combined with an appropriate apology. Pretty big of him considering some of the remarks that had been made. I expect he will be more aware of the sensitivities of the members of this board in the future, and as he evidently has some ability to bring positive light to bear on TSM on a larger community, we would be foolish not to welcome his presence here, just so long as he respects our needs and goals in the process.

Truce, everyone?

(I hope one of the administrators will see fit to remove the highly flammable posts above. It reflects poorly on all of us. Then, feel free to edit this post as well. . .)

G4M - I agree with you. Thank you for bringing this back to a civil level and yes I did notice his input and am still thankful to him.

Let's please close this thread since RV is out of pocket. I think it is starting to serve as a 'trigger' more than anything else, which none of us needs.

If anyone gardens maybe they can start a new gardening thread or something like that that we can all post to ;)

That's as far as I'm willing to go for now. I apologize to the group; it was a lame attempt at humor when nerves are a bit on edge. I am getting feedback on my Our Community post. Please read there and discuss by pm's.

I'd like to see a truce to and a step back from the aggressivity .
people pull back all the time . If lessons have been learned civil discourse will
prevail .

I would rephrase this. Alcohol will still give you the same "buzz" and by buzz I mean intoxicated feeling. Dizziness, lack of attention, happiness, loudness, social lubrication, whatever.

What it doesn't do is give you that "warm" contented feeling. It's difficult to verbalize what is missing when drinking with Naltrexone, but "buzz" covers too much. I still get plenty of what I'd call "buzz" and Naltrexone is working great for me.

So don't anyone be discouraged if you're on Naltrexone and still getting "buzzed".

Agreed. It is hard to put to words what drinking on Nal feels like to a person who is addicted to alcohol. I will say that I tend to lose interest in more than I ever have before -- it is as if it's lost it's luster to me.

You did make a good statement sometime back, that I didn't quite understand. You said that earlier in The Sinclair Method, the "Event Horizon" whereby one loses control simple is further away, but not gone. I most definitely find this to be true.

For my part, as long as people don't jump down my throat when I try to say something, I'm willing to sweep this under the carpet as an unfortunate misunderstanding. I really would like an opportunity to help out where I can.

That makes sense. I've spent a lot of time around people who mix their chemicals, and to them a "buzz" is any kind of altered mind state. Different grades of pot, for instance, will give a different buzz. The vodka buzz is different from the scotch buzz. My thought was that if the chemical experience is subjectively identical, then you may not be getting a huge endorphin flush with your alcohol.

As an afterthought, it's probably naive of me to think that it would be that easy to tell. Just being on naltrexone will probably always change the experience even if it isn't properly blocking the endorphins. Furthermore, I can't expect everyone to have the fine sense of chemical states that some of my associates have cultured.

Um, I haven't gotten the peace pipe yet. I'd GLADLY replace booze with a peace pipe. Its been 20 years since I, um, saw the pipe but I sure liked it!
