I was so excited when my pills arrived - just like Christmas, only they cam in a little cardboard box labelled manicure set $0 value:-)

Anyway, this is day 2 - 1/2 pill 1 hour before drinking and for the first hour or so I feel kind of woozy and a little off balance. I'm concerned about going up to 1 pill tomorrow. Any advice?

Take it easy. Wait till the SE's subside before going up to the full 50mg. No reason to rush it, it's gonna be a long haul no matter what and the SE's will go away very quickly.

I found the SEs very strong but after four or five days just went for the full 50mg and didn't feel any the worse for it...just take your time and don't stress it - and also please don't get discouraged from the SEs they go away very quickly, and personally I believe it's a very positive sign that the Nal really will work for you!

Thank you! - it's not a very pleasant feeling if you don't ask for it. I'm planning on being on the cured list within 9 months (bought a 4 month supply to get started).............ah, a long haul yes but I'd be drinking everyday anyway. May as well take a pill at the same time

One more question - Dr. Sinclair has said take the pill 30 minutes to 1 hour before drinking. Do you think it really matters if it is 30 minutes, 45, 60, 70? Or is anywhere in the ballpark ok - does one time work better than another? I find it weird watching the clock.

OK - I lied, another question - what if you go out for lunch and want to have a glass of wine, but then don't drink again for 4-5 hours, what do you do in that case?

Stick with 60 minutes or longer. Better safe than sorry.

In 4-5 hours the Nal is in still in full force. It is with Mediterranean style drinkers (all day long) that the Drs. recommend doubling the dose.
