Dr. my husband has been on Seroquel for over a year now and only uses it to help him sleep at night, will it affect the Naltrexone once he begins taking it this week?

Hi roxygirls, glad you found us. Are you new to tsm? Please don't be a stranger here, we're here to help.

Here is what Dr. Eskapa wrote me:

I think it unlikely that there is an interaction between Seroquel and naltrexone - however Seroquel is prescribed for affective disorder and you should definitely ask your prescribing doctor about this. I also think that if you get the drinking down there is a probability that you would get the depression down. Seroquel is serious medication - so lease check with your doctor.

Corkit - Thanks for the welcome. Yes, new here and posted in newbie section. I just realized that the same doctor who prescribed Seroquel also prescribed Nal as part of former treatment plan. This was while abstaining though. I suppose it's ok to take them together.

My husband was put on Seroquel when he was in detox and now he only takes it once a day before he goes to bed it helps him sleep. I'm personally going with what the doc said that the two medications won't work against each other, so here's to the cure where your wife and my husband will no longer need the Seroquel for depression.
