Hi Netty - Welcome!

I too am a female who loves beer (my favorite!), but had to switch to liquor becase I couldn't hide the beer cans/bottles from my family. I've supposedly been trying to be abstinent since last summer, but that's a joke! :D

I was also given Naltrexone, but was told to use it with abstinence. Now that I understand the Sinclair Method, I'm trying to start over. I'm off to a rough start, but many others have have made great progress. I'm hoping it will just take longer for me - I'll NEVER give up!

Hey KK,
Thanks for the PM checking in on me. It feels good to be missed. The same for Marby.
So I assume you are on the Method now? Great! I know you had/have huge obstacles to overcome. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

Starting week 3, I think. Drinking is higher than pre-treatment, but there is no buzz, no reinforcement. We'll see how this goes.

I got my book "The Cure for Alcoholism" by Roy Eskapa. I am enjoying reading it, other than it is extremely repetetive. The book could have been a pamphlet.

I though the same but every time I got in an argument, I went back and read a chapter again and realized that I had been skimming. In defence of the good doctor, I think the book can be read in layers. As you know more, more will be revealed.

Yes, the body of the book has the same message repeatedly stated. I assume this was done for emphasis. The appendices, testimonials and the patent are interesting reading. I now am a strong believer in the Method and the book, now that I have finished it. The message is simple; Naltrexone+Drinking=Cure. I'll see how I feel after another 2 months of this. The first month I certainly feel different and somewhat liberated although my drinking level has not fallen; my enjoyment of it is waining with each passing week.
