Here's why I do this...

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Takes our breath away and reminds us how incredible the miracle of life is. How easily these images erase our pain - I think that's why God gave us babies and puppies and kittens, etc. I want to hug them ALL! You made me cry, remembering my girls not so long ago... Damn - I'm getting old! ENJOY this phase while you can - it doesn't get any better than that kind of joy. Or at least nothing else I've ever experienced can compare.

Congratulations on your amazing family, and thank you, as always, for starting this community to which we've all become so addicted.....I'll take this one over alcohol any day! Cheers.

You just showed us the best reason of all and she's adorable! I think most of us are here not just for ourselves but those we love as well.

You got it N101CS. Isn't it sad that in the past these reasons are pointed out to you by oneself, SOs and Dr.s but with the other options of recovery you can't get past the Al. If the addictions industry would only see the light. For those of us who either don't want to or can't do 12 steps, they are ruining our and our loved ones' lives.

And in the future you will be able to set a better example and hopefully your daughter will not get the AL bug.
I remember one day, together with my family, we were all talking and having a good time, when someone brought up "Have you ever seen someone drunk?"
My granddaughter(14 years at the time), with whom I am extremely close, piped up and said, "YES!"
I asked her "Oh, who?"
She said, "You, Grandma."
I really felt that one.
SO GOOD REASON.
And she is so adorable too!

Lovely little one. You're blessed. Mine are all grown up and gone but how I wish I could get some years back. My sister told me recently that about 20 years ago, when I was drinking heavily all the time, she was afraid when I held her baby daughter that I'd drop her....another of those oh moments. How wonderful that you have the chance now to make memories that will be healthy ones for you and your baby!!
