Just got my book and would very much like to get Revia but I live in an area where all the doctors seem to
be sold on AA or homeopathic alternatives. I checked and my insurance will cover a prescription. Does any one know of
a doctor in the San Jose, Santa Cruz or Monterey Bay area that would be will to prescribe. I will pay for the doctor visit.
I have been on line all morning looking for someone.

I am sorry I can't help with a doctor, as I am in Europe, but I think you will find that most (some?) doctors will prescribe Revia/Naltrexone for abstinance (Although trials show it does not work for abstinance).

You can just say you have a friend who has been taking it and it has worked very well for her (You actually have- it is me:)) and you would like to try it.

You can 'fess up at a later date when you have your drinking under control, but at this stage the important thing is just to get it.

I went to a doctor who I have never been to previously and told him I wanted it for abstinance and got it no problem- the problems seem to start when you tell them you are planning to drink with it.

I do not remember the name of the Dr. but there is one that I found thru addiction specialists. He is in Sausalito. I have a fab Dr in Sebastopol she is cool....But they are both far from you. If you want either of their names I can help you with that. ( I would have to trace back for the Dr in Sausalito bu tI have it in the office.
