Since I do drink 24/7 I wonder how often and how much Naltrexone I should take. I can take more than 50 mgs a day, I have no problem with it agreeing with me. Should I take 25 mg in am 9:00 when I get out of bed.....25mg 4 pm and 25 mg at 10 pm bedtime.

My heaviest drinking time is between 9 am and 6 pm (One to 1 1/2 bottles of wine.)

Any thoughts on this?

The dose for naltrexone most commonly used in the clinical trials is 50 mg.

The maximum dose is 300 mg / 24 hours.

It is possible that 25 mg is enough to block the opioid receptors ... but I would err on the side of caution. If you are drinking throughout the day take 50 mg an hour (or as soon as possible) before you start at 9 am. If you are still drinking at 9 pm take another dose of 50 mg. It is possible that there are variations in metabolic clearance and individual differences among opioid systems. If you start at 9 am it is possible that by 9 pm - if you are still drinking - that the naltrexone may have washed out of your system to some extent therfore you might not be covered by opioid antagomism (blockade).

Good day Spent most of my time at a seminar during the day, so most of my drinking was in the evening.

Feeling good on the 50 2 x a day. Sat 1 bottle wine + 1 shot rum, Sun 1 bottle wine There are actually hours of the day I am not drinking. In fact at the moment I have not had any wine for about 5 hours! Yay! Hard to imagine.
