In the past week I have never been so confronted with the problem of alcoholism as before. A good friend just told me about an unspeakable crime against her daughter that was the outcome of AL and then around the same time more people have been talking to me about family members and the problems caused by AL. I'm hanging unto TSM (it just has to work!) for a cure not only for me and my husband but so I can point these people to something that will help them.

That sucks, trust me I can relate to how AL can make a situation far worse than it needs to be. Usually it's just AL that makes an initially horrible person do even more horrible things, and they choose to use AL as an excuse. I hope TSM works out for you, corkit, so that you can be a good ambassador for TSM to your friends who could use the help. Too often abuse of AL leads to abuse of other things and each other, I've seen it, it's not pretty. However, while we pin many hopes on TSM, it shouldn't be a substitute for the counseling of a professional, which your friends daughter might be in serious need of.

(btw, I sent you an un-related PM, not sure if you got it)

So many of society's ills are either created by alcohol, or tremendously exacerbated by alcohol. I don't know the numbers, but assaults, rapes, murders and violent crime -- the vast majority of these offenses occur when perpetrators are intoxicated. The same for domestic abuse and molestation, not to mention traffic accidents.

Which is all the more reason I believe that it is borderline criminal that the medical profession is not actively researching methods that could combat this societal atrocity, including, first and foremost, TSM.

Once again I concur. Whatthefunk, while I do believe counselling can be helpful, I also believe that the alcohol abuse is the cause of most of the ills. That being said, most of us here have had our fair share of counselin, therapy etc. While we all probably took something out of it, I think most of us agree that the addictions industry is sometimes full of it/ itself. A self propagating industry.
When rereading corkits post it seems that the perp was the al abuser so my comment may not have been appropriate and I hope his friend's daughter get any help she might require and at the expense of the criminal.

When I first started TSM, I decided I wouldn't recommend it to anyone until I knew it worked for me. We old timers had no evidence that it worked in the real world. But seeing what has happened in this community, there is finally PROOF! If you see/know someone in trouble with alcohol please don't hesitate to spread the word about TSM. Even if you can't disclose that you have a drinking problem, you could just say you've heard that TSM has worked wonders. You really could save someone's life...

Believe me Krazy1 I have been telling people I know about this "new cure I heard about for alcoholism" and then they look at me like I'm nuts, oh well someday they'll hear it again from someone else and think maybe there's something to this tsm and no my friends daughter has not gone for counseling yet.

Whatthefunk I did get your email.

There was a horrible murder in my town about 2 yrs ago in which a man shot his wife and his 5-yr-old son dead (he ran her car off the road, shot her in the temple and killed his own son after that). He also tried to kill his other two kids as they ran away from the scene. Apparently he was drunk at the time and had told a friend his intentions and advised him to "read about me in the newspaper" the next day.

The man was a violent, controlling and insecure husband/person as it were. Even sober, he threatend to kill his wife on many an occasion. Who knows if the alcohol gave him the gas and guts to actually do it. He was sentenced to death today. His two remaining kids have now lost their mother, their brother and their dad. According to reports, his parents were divorced and his dad was an abusive alcoholic.

I agree with Nick. I know that alcohol plays a key role in my own behavior, and I am not an angry, destructive person. It just makes you irrational. So sad.
