16 oz of lovely French wine today. Most I've had since starting but after all this is Saturday night - first time with major trigger. Anxiety level is high.

thanks, Virgil. I have done some writing in the past - went to Journalism school - can't make any money at that...never amounted to anything in my life - I've been screwing up opportunities for years   Hubby is not a great writer but he's a heck of an editor so that's what he does. He did a story this spring for a trawler yacht magazine (big, fancy +$2 mil types) - the story was on a guy in ole blighty who has a very skinny canal boat - I think this thing was 6 ft wide and 100 ft long! what a hoot. Of course it was all fixed up inside and was worth a mint. Oh how the other half live eh?

I hope you are well. From reading your stuff you have a real struggle on your hands. Especially with the anxiety. Speaking of hands (and feet), I can tell when my anxiety is high because I wring my hands, and wriggle my feet together - in effect, wringing my feet!! I also clench my hands and jaw...man I'm a mess too

Hi BGH,

I spent a weekend on a boat of the type you have described. We refer to them as narrow boats, for obvious reasons. They are great to 'drive', being controlled by only the rudder at the back. I seem to recall that our waterways permit a maximum speed of just 4 mph. It's a lot of fun manoeuvring one of these things through the canal locks. There are quite a few people who live permanently aboard these boats and, yes, they go to town fitting them out with all the latest mod cons.

Regarding the anxiety, it has been more of a struggle in the past as I now appear to be making some progress (at last) with my current therapist. But, I still have some way to go.

All the best.

V.
