Week 13 - 78 units.

What can I say? I take my NAL one hour before I drink.

What has changed for me is that pre TSM I always watched the clock and was very much aware of the fact that I was (on average) starting to drink earlier and earlier every year.
Now ... I am starting to drink later and later every week!
(Does that make sense? I hope so.)
My units are down a good 20 % ... I dont watch the clock anymore and when I have only a handful of drinks I can go to sleep without all the tossing and turning of insomnia of past.
I am beginning to think that maybe I dont need Alcohol at all.
I am so looking forward to the next month of TSM to see what happens next.

This is all great news. You are "falling out of love" with alcohol, as am I. The decreased interest in alcohol is definitely extinction taking place, which is gradual and not perceptible. You are witnessing "glimpses" of your future. Congratulations.

Glad you are feeling so much better . It's such a breath of fresh air to feel the changes biting isn't it ?.
If your Doctor sees good things in Eskapa's book perhaps he'd do likewise with the Tuttle weekly too .

yeah tuttle, I noticed the cravings are down and that's encouraging the units might just be habit. You're getting closer, every day that much closer.

Looking good. I finally read your thread. Did your GP make any comments about the book?
Keep it up you are progressing great.

Week 17 ... 65 Units ... I am now just short of 4 Calendar months on TSM and my units are down by 35%.
I think this is really quite bizarre.
I have consumed vast quantities of alcohol for many years without being able to control how much I drank ... and now, without any effort, my units are slowly falling.
I just dont want to drink as much as I did a few months ago.

I know that in part my lower units are due to lower cravings and therefore I start drinking later in the evening instead of in the afternoon, but I'm also not wanting to drink as much as before.

In the past, I would drink until I passed out on the couch, wake at 3 am, stumble to bed and sleep till noon. Today, I dont watch the clock anymore, I start later, drink slower, always sleep in bed, wake at a reasonable time and it feels better.

I still find it hard to imagine that I could soon be drinking safely (or not at all) but at this stage I'm not putting any pressure on myself to change my behaviour. I'm just going along for the ride and see where it takes me.

TSM is now a matter of taking my NAL when I remember, wait an hour (sometimes more) and drink as much as I feel like. If the current trend continues, my guesstimate is that I could be drinking safely after 6 months of TSM.
