LOL, the funny thing is after I felt SO terrible, I can't even remember how bad it made me feel now. A bit like childbirth I guess :)

It would be interesting to see if those of us more sensitive to it have faster success rates, but seeing as there are so many reasons why we pick up a drink, I feel it might just be how fast we can drink through those reasons (on Nal) and therefore eliminating those triggers and urges.

I did not drink yesterday and seeing as it is now nearly 5 pm and I have no cravings whatsoever it looks like it will be another alcohol free day. Believe me, for me to go alcohol free for just one day pre-Sinclair was such a huge thing- just about impossible.

I can't even talk myself into the thought of a drink being appealing- it just isn't
Right now I just fancy a nice cold glass of water with some lemon juice. Last night I took home a can of Vimto instead of the usual beers. I really enjoyed it.

I started my Naltrexone journey with my SO and I can say that I absolutely had no side effects whatsoever I started with 25 and next day took 50 mg. and the rest is history.
I would like to add that I am most fortunate that I am doing this with my SO and we are able to give each other the support that we need when we have our doubts or fears. This make the journey so much easier.
My personal progress report is I am doing very well and feel that I am making progress. I noticed my consumption has gone up this week and I am surmising that it is because the Naltrexone is working and I am consuming more to offset the effect of the Naltrexone doing it job.
At this moment I have absolutely no cravings whatsoever and I sure enjoy that.

LOL I thought it was a US thing- must be UK- it is a fruity fizzy drink that does nothing for your health but tastes nice!

Wow - I'm SO sorry to hear about your fall. I'm sure it wasn't the alcohol. I can fall with a lot less obstacles than dark and high heels

I hope you have a quick ad not so painful recovery. Hang in there!

Spring has sprung here in North California. We had a great yoga class outside yesterday, a little cold with an overcast sky. The teacher hired a flutist to play for our entire 1 1/2 hour class.

I am feeling well. I still contribute my emotional well being to my addition of Baclofen.
In regard to AL I feel I am having very good success, in overcoming the extreme over drinking cravings. I wish I did not have the cravings, but so be it and I going with the flow and doing what is best for me.

I had some big things over this past week that really could have put me upside down and I absolutely know it is the Nal that is tempering my addiction.
Well it's all still so new to all of us and I can only hope we persevere and at the end of our journey we can help others with our determination and steadfast conduct.

I have not been drunk ever since I started this course of meds, almost three months now, I have not once awakened in the middle of the night, (as I had every night for YEARS mentally sickened with the reality that I succumbed once again to the obliteration that drinking brought to me.)

It is difficult to understand why I drink, I am a healthy (amazing after ALL that AL) good looking, artistic, capable smiling person. My financial problems are relative, the more money you have the more you need, I have wonderful friends and family that love and (important to me) admire me.

The only thing I did not get was two more inches to my height and long blond hair.(Oh and the magic of not aging, darn, but I was at a party last night with dear long time friends and I again heard the comments, you never age.) That I can thank my wonderful European heritage for, (and my AL use too!)

Well I guess that's my lot, the most thing I need and have needed in my life was to be loved unconditionally. Maybe in my next life I will be a big orange cat.
Well a little ramble but I felt like sharing some thoughts.

I wonder if my size of type annoys other people I like to have fun with the visual. Let me know. OO

Aawww Waiting- I think you chose the wrong username- it seems to be proving prophetic!

I do hope your knees heel quickly- but also agree it would not be a good idea to take the first Nal on top of other drugs.

Don't worry- another few days in the big scheme of things wont matter.

Ocean- I can so relate in not knowing why I drink- I puzzled over that for years. I think Dr. Eskapa's book does actually provide the answer- we were born with an genetically inherited tendency that if we drink heavily over a period of time, the corresponding neural pathways in the brain become very strong, and no longer have a realistic choice over whether we drink or not.

We all know how strong the subconcious mind is- it breathes us, beats our hearts, pumps our blood- we cannot stop it, even if we try. Due to our genetic make up we also 'taught' it to tell us to drink excessively too.

We are now undoing that 'teaching' and relearning it a new way to function around alcohol. 8-)

I'm sorry to hear this, WTE. Now you've learned another valuable lesson: alcohol, parties, and high heels are a no-no! :o

It must feel like you're never going to get underway with this. . .but as a reminder, "This, too, shall pass." You'll be a Sinclair success story by mid-summer! Just hang in there.

Really sorry to hear about your fall WTE, hope the x-rays come back clear. Your psychotherapist sounds very close-minded - what a shame! Hope you can get on the program soon. Take care of yourself.

Waiting2Ex -
Good luck & let us know how the date went. All of your middle-aged hot, blonde, wine & beer drinking gal pals on here are cheering for you. I assume you are wearing slacks so as to cover the scabby knees! LOL

Hope the NAL gets there soon -
