Christy - awesome news. I'm glad you are taking the bac in combo with the Nal - it seems to be working and many will learn from your progress.

Yeah!

Good news and as someone else said it looks like you were progressing any way prior to taking the Bac. I have no real idea about it but if its working then as others have said there is learning therefor others.
Glad you are enjoying your new found freedom.

Christy,

I imagine some of us are curious about what dose bac your are taking along with the nal; the time of day you take your bac compared to nal; what, if any, the side effects have been and whether they have waned; and whether you obtained a script for bac from your doc or from a foreign source. Everybody is different so that means others won't necessarily benefit as you did, but then perhaps they would. In any case, any and all information and personal experiences with any of these meds might be welcomed by all, if only to add to the total sum of our knowledge so far.

I'm sure you saw Lena's great post on the issue of adding bac to nal in the General Discussion thread. She truly put some thought into that!

Keep up the good work!

Mike

Hi Mike.

Thanks for your kind words.

I started my Bac much like everyone 5mgs 3x a day, for 3 days and then moved up to 10mgs 3x a day, then moved up 10mgs every couple days. I am at about 100mgs and want to move up but I can't because I am going to run out soon. I have ordered some more, and hope it comes soon.

At first I didn't feel any side effects, however as I got a little higher and taking more at one dose, I was feeling tired. I still do. I take more at night when I am at home then I can just go to bed. I work in the town that I live all within walking distance, so I don't drive much. Some people worry about driving, and most should be cautious until they know how it will affect them.

I still take my Nal an hour before I drink. I am still hoping that will work, but unfortunately I am not as patient as many others are here.

If anyone has any questions or even comments, I am more than willing to help them out and answer any questions.

I am one day into Week 19. Last week was my best week EVER! I drank 6 units for THE ENTIRE WEEK, and had 6 AF days.

The Bac has most definately helped. It has also helped that I have simply not had any beer in the house and well, do not have that force within telling me to get to the beer or the liquor store.

I wouldn't say I am completely indifferent however, I have noticed a huge difference, as has my husband. I am still at the point, if it's there, I will drink it, just not as much as before, and I won't go and get it.

Plus I am now working 2 jobs and well, simply don't have time for drinking!!! LOL!!
