Finally I got Revia for my father. He took 25mg on first two days but didn’t feel anything. No side effects. No different feelings after alcohol. Nothing.
I’ve read _most_ of you who write here had some side effects at the beginning.
Are side effects something common after naltrexone or is it something rare as with other drugs?

I made a big mistake and took 50mg for my first dose. I got flattened with nausea, buzzing sensation, etc. and couldn't get out of bed for a few hours. The next day I summoned my courage and took the proper 25 mg starter dose. I felt nothing at all. Same the next day, and also when I went properly up to 50 mg. You hear a lot about side effects, but I think that's because the people who have them post about them. I think most would agree with N101CS who said, "Taking naltrexone is easy easy easy."

Hi feier, I just started four days ago and I didn't feel anything either and I began to think it wasn't working for me where my husband was really sick to his stomach. After 2 days on 25mg we went to 50mg and nothing happened then either but the following morning I felt kind of sick and a little shakey nothing bad but I knew it had to be the NAL. It must work differently with on every person so keep going on I know I'm going to what's the alternative? We're all going in the right direction free from AL. Keep posting I like to know how you're doing, good luck.

I did have side effects. But I can tell you with confidence that your fathers experience lacking them or any effect at all means nothing. Please don't worry about it. Although it seems like us as a group are experiencing more side effects, the majority of patients in the studies didn't have them.

I do notice a difference in the way alcohol makes me feel on Nal, but the difference is so subtle I could just as easily say that I don't.
