HELLO, AND ALLOW ME TO BE THE FIRST TO WELCOME YOU TO THIS FORUM

Drink2much, and yes I too have the same overindulgence problem.

Let's continue to read and share, and hopefully we shall be able to share some positive results.

BEST TO YOU

and as a post script: The Dr. has said if you "forget" to take your NAL. just take it anyway, even if you have started to drink.
But I imagine it would be best to get yourself on a system of intake.

Hi D2M, another warm welcome. Please DO get Dr. Eskapa's book and read it - it will give you a jump start on your journey. Let us know how you're responding to the Naltrexone. Most of us have some fatigue and spaciness for a week or two, but these side effects subside. Don't know how you've managed to drink to excess and keep it such a secret. . .but won't it be nice not to have to do so any longer?

D2M

I had insomnia too the first night I took the NAL. Even on a 1/2 ambien. Finally a valium gave me some fitful sleep. And that was on just a 1/4 Nal. But I didn't have trouble the next night or since.

The spaciness and flushing went away after about 3 to 4 days for me.

Friday 15th

Updating Thursday.

Took Nal 50mg at 8.45am, then drank 740 mils equal to just under one bottle of wine, so nearly 9 UK units.

6pm took Nal 25mg and drank 180 mils equal to 2 UK units

Better than it has been, though still more than I'd like. I'm amazed how much I've been drinking. I knew it was a lot, but writing it down makes it really quite frightening to see. Glad I've found TSM!

Total for Thursday 11 UK units (or 6 US units) between 9.45am and 10pm

It's way too early for you to see consistent progress - though there are exceptions to the rule. Hope you're one of them, but if you find yourself upping the amount you drink, don't become too alarmed. It's part of the process.

Yes, now that I'm keeping track of drinks, I realize that I almost surely drank quite a bit more pre-Sinclair than I realized. I thought I averaged 70-75 upw - but it was more likely 90-100. I only know that b/c I accidentally took a pill that wasn't Naltrexone one day last week, and had 14 units that night, and the next day realized that's more like what I used to do regularly. Man, was I killing myself! The good news is, that means I've made FAR greater progress than I thought!

D2M - I think you win the prize for best tracking - I thought I was anal about this but I don't track the exact time! :D

I think it's great and you are off to a really good start. The tracking will really help you as you get further into it. I also think that anything that happens when you are reducing or stopping your drinking, even at this point, IS because of the Nal. You may go back up in a few weeks but I took the first week as a preview of how I would react to the Nal in 3 or 4 months...and other than the side affects (which are 100% gone now) it has held true.

Congrats on your (almost) first week!

This is wonderful, d2m! Looks like you're going to be what Dr. Eskapa terms 'a rapid responder.' Good for you! Good for us!

Hi D2M --- Why would you have thought it would be less? A true cure comes after a few months. Few of us drink less @ 2 wks, and some drink more than we did pre-TSM before the drinking begins to abate.

We're glad you're with us. We plan on you being with us for the long haul.

Looks like you're well on your way! I underestimate my consumption as well -- it's a common trait among us. I detest tracking my drinking but if Eskapa says to do it, I do it. Take care.

Don't know how relevant this is. But although my total AL units are way up, both weeks I had two AF days. I *always* have one AF day (Sunday), it's just my way of life.

But both last weeks I had two AF days.

Which makes it worse, cos my units were consumed over five days. Heck my liver must be half dead (at best)

D2M,

Your life is about to change my friend. Stick to TSM and AL will lose its grip on you in the next 4-6 months. Your live will love you for it!
