Started TSM 26 April, 2009. I expected to be cured by now, ie. be a social drinker, drinking a couple of glasses of wine, perhaps a couple of times a week.
I'm still drinking a bottle of wine a day. It's disappointing, however I feel that I'm making some progress since I don't feel the effect of the wine until the last glass now.
Last week I had 2 days where I abstained (not because I wanted to but I was on holiday and alcohol was not available) however it was not too difficult for me, I didn't crave. I have only abstained from alcohol perhaps 4 days since I began TSM 27weeks ago. So any period of abstinence is great.

I'm concerned about the comments posted here about questions with regard to the quality of naltrexone from River Pharmacy.
That's were I get my supply. Should I be worried. I feel the naltrexone much be effective since I don't feel the effect of the first 2 or 3 glasses of wine, however it is worrying that the quality of the drug is being questioned.
Is there anyway to test the quality I wonder?

Hi,

I have similar concerns about quality of the drug, but there is also the issue of the bodys metabolization of the drug which can differ from one person to another. There are a few other people beside you who have passed the 6 month mark and are wondering if TSM is working for them as well. Some people seem to respond to an increase in dosage (from 50mg to 75 or 100) while others do not.

From what I've read around here is that River pharmacy is one of the most reliable there is and I may order from them next time since I found the last pharmacy I've dealt with has mixed reviews and are not as reliable.

Thanks for the reassurance Mimir!
I'm going to persevere with naltrexone. I've made an appointment with my family doctor and I may be able to get a prescription from her so that I can get naltrexone through normal channels......but there is no guarantee that I'll get a prescription since the medication is not standard therapy where I live.

I'm experiencing more and more AF days which is good.
I'm over the 6 months mark, but perhaps my brain is a slow learner? I'm keeping an open mind at this point.
