Too tired to read the whole thread, but I'd just like to point out that I don't want my figures used for anything that I haven't expressly signed up for. I'm in no way saying that that's what's going on here, I'm just so very tired I can't get through this thread, so am just saying that to be be doubly-sure :)

Sorry for not participating in a more helpful, and possibly completely off-topic way.

Np 8. If anybody else feels that way don't hesitate to say so. We have recorded units for those members that have them published in their signatures. The only people that can see them though are...us, the people that can already see them.

Again I want to emphasize: If we start trying to tell anything from the data in these graphs it will not be scientific, especially if there is comparison person-to-person. The subjects of a "real" study based on self reporting would be subjected to lengthy interviews and instruction about reporting. For example, many if not most of us have admitted to wildly underreporting our pre-TSM drinking. In a "real" study, interviewers would ask probing questions, as part of the study design, calculated to elicit a more precise number. That's just one example. I know LoOp and 1-for get this but I have a real concern about anyone who reads this thinking that anyone is purporting to do anything truly serious with this data.

Also, 8's concern is legitimate in that none of us has agreed to be "study participants" or have our numbers used for any purpose. That's not happening here either. No "lab rats" here! We just have some "number geeks" :ugeek: :geek: who want to help those who enjoy the bells and whistles of graphing use it as a means to track our own progress. Think of it as the units in the sig line, only in living color. That and maybe a little bit of looking at things from a different angle. It's basically all good fun, and no one's eye will get put out.

No one should feel pressured into doing anything you don't want to do. That's not anyone's intent at all.

Any time anyone has a concern, please speak up right away!

I'd prefer to see it as a tool which could be used by members - but only if they wish. It would be opt-in rather than opt-out

This is the entry that we have for you: Image

It is the units in your sig converted to US units. I have absolutely no qualms whatsoever about removing it if you wish. I likely (not sure) also have it stored on my computer somewhere. I can find and delete that as well, but I see it every time I read one of your posts in your signature.

I do all kinds of things with these and all the other numbers that I see on this board, just out of the sake of curiosity and all in good fun. Let me know. :)

edit: also this: Image

I added an "AF Days" sheet, so we can log our AF Days. I think I'll add a column on the Member Info sheet that subtracts AF Days from Days In Treatment.

We may have a philosophy debate on this one. Dr.Eskapa's book suggests that we use AF days as part of our positive reinforcement and thus part of our treatment. Also, if you look at Q's numbers and time to recovery versus my numbers and time to recovery, they are remarkably similar. However, Q was a binge drinker, whereas I was a daily drinker. If we go to a subtraction method of calculating treatment time, then binge drinkers may have unrealistically shorter treatment times than daily drinkers.

Also, at the "end" of the treatment, AF days get quite numerous, sometimes 7 days per week. Does that mean that we are not in treatment any longer? Maybe. Maybe not. I think it's a good topic for discussion.

Bob

Yeah, I don't know. I just put it there so we could look at it and think/talk about it.

edit: I think it might reflect # of extinction sessions

Someone emailed sinclairmethoddata@gmail.com yesterday requesting access to the spreadsheet. Actually I think they did it by clicking the "request access" thing rather than emailing. I just need to know which member it is before I can grant it, to make sure it's one of us and not some psycho. :D
